I was very lucky. My boss gave me a hall pass to start at 10 instead of 8:30. I was riding before first light. Kind of spooky being the only human on the trail.

    Saturday's Chino Ride Directions

    Hello All,

I rode for the first time with the STR group on 1/23/11 at Marshall Canyon. Really enjoyed it. I would like to try the ride at Chino Hills this Saturday, but I do not know how to get there. I live in Rancho Cucamonga. Could someone give me directions? I am a middle of the pack rider at best, so I don't know if this ride would be beyond my abilities. Hope to see you guys on Saturday.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have only ridden once this year and am completely out of shape... Might try to make this one to get the legs churning and experience a little new dirt.

10 West to the 57 South.

Exit Lambert (after crossing over into Orange County/Brea) head East (turn left). Go past Placentia Rd. and about 1/2 mile the park entrance will be on the right side. There is a $5 fee.

Once the fee is paid, enter park turn left go to the end - that's the trail head parking.

Telegraph to 4 Corners is consider beginner level but it is a 6 mile gradual climb and there are 5 or so water crossings, all fairly low right now. The last 3/4 mile is the steepest. There will be a number of steep but short little climbs until you reach 4 Corners.

Hey Steve. Back in December I was dodging a lot of cow pies on Telegraph. Did the rain clean things up or is it still a mine field?

You know, I haven't seen any land mines out there besides the occasional and ever stinky dog poop.

The rain pretty much washed the trail down to the HARD pack.
