I'm sure we'll have more SS lovefest rides just it would be cool to have it once a year :) but in terms of just riding the trails...i definitely wont let it be once a year thing :)

just a bit of trivia...for those of us that didnt do the extra credits we did a total of 13.97 miles with a total elevation gain of 1944' :) not bad, not bad at all

Glad you enjoyed the ride. It's one of my favorite areas to ride.

That trail with the steep descent at the end is called Oso so we can all call it by name now. The only thing sketchier is riding it at night :bang:

That was me! Should've taken the switchback option. Not sure what I was thinking. I'm OK, just a good bump on my knee and a bit of a bruised ego. Bent the front rim pretty good as I nailed the gully head on. Not sure if it's salvageable, but will see what the guys at Ladera Cyclery say tomorrow.

I started off walking back to the cars, but Gary/commplex saw me as he was driving by and took me back to the park. That was really cool of him and as I told Foo earlier, reminds me again h0w awesome the mtb and especially the STR community is!

Thanks again for agreat ride and hope to do this again.

How are your ribs doing after your crash? I remember you holding your side and saying something on the next climb.

Thanks for all of the great photos and good times. It was a fun ride and it was great to see so many faces familiar and new. Its too bad I had to bail after Oso. The party that I had to go to was pushed back another hour. I could have probably finished the ride with time to spare.

Allison/Justin... Let me know when are you going to setup an Idyllwild ride. Allison mentioned it during the ride and it sounded damn good to me. It has been a couple of years since I've ridden Satan's Gut and all of the other fun stuff from South Ridge down to Hurkey.

I'm thinking we need to do a camping weekend up there in early April?? We'll see how it goes weather-wise, but might be fun the 1st or 2nd weekend in April. May is probably also doable, but can get really warm.

Looked like fun Duan, sorry I could not make it but family time calls once in a while too...I think you can relate family man:)!
We went up to the cabin at Big Bear after the demo so it was some knuckledragging for me and the familia!

How can you say no to this smiling, missing tooth grin?

Just a idea of the "group" we rode with yesterday but suprisingly the lift lines were not that bad.

Thanks for the report and pics, almost like being there--yeah right! Looks like you guys had a great time, filled with great people!

Sorry I missed it; hope to make the next one (next year I'm volunteering for the VQ, so I won't have to be as strict with training--heeheeh)
