I love my hitch mounted bike rack but would be lying if I didn't admit that there are times when it makes me a little nervous to have, up to, three expensive bikes just waiting to get nailed by a distracted driver.

I spent $15 at Harbor Freight on a hitch mounted brake light and a trailer light harness and this is what I came up with. It works like a charm, doesn't permanently alter the rack and simply unplugs if I remove the rack.

Great idea, I have reflective tape on there now, but like this even better.

I had been planning to get something like that but was curious what I wanted to do. Thanks for the idea.

Very cool idea. I use reflective tape, a regular reflector (not lit), and I also clip on a red shop towel square on the outside bike. So far so good - not hit yet.

The light is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

Optical illusion caused by the rack and bike being closer to the camera than the truck is......thats all.
