I think it was a shop just going crazy with a build but that price tag is likely what it would cost for them to build if for someone.

Sure you can buy a lot of things for $10k, but you can't buy a 951 that looks like that for too much less (retail).

I can buy a brandy new corvette all tricked out for WAAAAY less than an enzo and compete with it on the track. But it wouldn't be an enzo.

Some people like nice things and can afford to spend their money on them. I'm not judging the guy, just posting bike porn.

I rode a 2003 Iron Horse SGS(for 5 years) before the 951. The SGS handled like a Truck and the 951 more like a Sports car Now I just have to learn to drive it:lol:

As for the $10,000.00 build, I'm just saying you dont have to pay that for a good build.

I am guessing it runs in the 10s for some odd reason:lol:

Ala carte Builds always cost mroe than a production line bike. There is no getting around it. Specially if your paying full retail on everything. Its hard to beat complete price even if you get everything at a good deal<not including EP's and closeouts>

I agree I was making the point that I dont think it was a real world build it looked like a shop going with the most bling/expensive build.

But strangely easy to do at the same time if you truly have no parts ready to go on when you start.

Alot of us here on STR have really nice bikes that came about on an almost evolution process. Look at me, I started with a KHS rage, which got an upgraded fork from the Marz MXR to a RS Psylo, then it evolved into a KHS FR frame with the existing parts off the rage, then the wheelsett upgraded, parts upgraded, then again the fork upgraded to a Marz Z150. More parts upgraded, wore out the z150, which upgraded to a Marz 66, then the bike evolved to a Transition Dirtbag with the existing parts from the KHS, rode for another year pretty much the way it was, were it yet again evolved to a Transition blinside for a frame, with alot of new parts in the process with keeping the fork, and wheels.

Looking over it, through the whole evolution of the bike, If I build it up FUll retail witht he parts I have, I could easily have that one close to 7K with ease, and I could also with ease build the same bike with ebtter parts and hit 9K no problems.

    Just food for thought
