Suggestion 10 second wait for new search

    Why do we have to wait 10 seconds for a new search?

    Is a search that server intensive?

    I know 10 seconds isn't a lot of time, but it's still annoying having to wait.

    I'm no forum expert, but if you were to take out that 10 second wait it would make searching so much easier and faster and it doesn't seem like it would slow the server down at all.

    Even a 1 or 2 second wait would be enough to prevent any Bot form abusing the site...

    I also run into the 10 second issue more that I would like to.

    same thing on the PM...

    Yeah, I agree about the PM's too. Time limits are annoying, so are space limits.

    Why are we limited to only 250 pms? Is it a space issue?

    Even if you have 250 good sized PM's, it would be less than half a megabyte. Text doesn't take up that much space.

    how about being able to pm more than 5 peeps at one time. I suspect its set so no massise junk mail but maybe at least we can pm peeps that are 'friends' at once. tried to send pms to peeps letting them know ride 411 changes and almost missed the ride myself it took so long at 5 each plus the 10 time out :p

    I only hate it when the site is slow and I end up clicking the button twice.
    Hence, I have to wait 10 seconds for my "first "search".

    No 250 limit when you donate to the site. I have noticed that not many have STR dohickeys by there avatars. Maybe George could get rid of the search wait for STR members that donate to the site.

    If you add "site:socaltrailriders.org" in your google search you will only get results from this site.

    The only downside is that google sorts them by best match, while the str search sorts the results by more recent post.

    I guess it depends on what you are searching for

    You probably already know this but the search button on the home page opens a Google custom search window!!!
