Which one would you put on your DH bike.Single ring w/bash. Both weigh about the same yet the saints are about 100 bucks more. Now i dont do Bender type of stuff but do some lite hucking where possible. Is the saints that much better or you're just paying for the name :?:

newer (2009+) Saints. Have owned both and the Gravity Lights are NOT Lights...they are only about 50-75 grams less than the Saints. Saints are more robust for sure in all regards and worth it IMHO

you can get Saint DH / single ring crankset for friggin $215 shipped right now, doubles for $240 and $270 if you need the DH 83mm BB version.

Saints hands down. Stiff and relatively light.

I might try the gravity lights. I have a set of saint 170mm x 83mm for sale for $150.00 w/o bb. I need 165mm in stead.

I would go Saint for the BB. I would rather have shimano bb the FSA bb.

i just ordered a Saint crankset for my bike and ive done research, the gravity lights flex a lot easier and shimanos BB are very reliable. i stay with shimano cuz they are reliable and in my opinion the best parts made!

+1 for the FSA, Ive been hammering them for a couple years now and have replaced the BB once. By no means have I been shy with them and recently the've been on my BMX cruiser. Flexy? I haven't noticed, the gates and first straight have been good.

Saint hands down. ABsolutly worth the bill extra over the gravity lites. You know for that matter..... anything is worth an extra bill over the Gravity lites........

Sorry for the slam to the GL lovers, but I like having cranks that dont bend from regular pedalling. GL cranks are like an overcooked peice of pasta.

Shimano cranks are pretty tough to beat and the bb is much better also. Just picked up some new shimano's myself.

Shimano is over priced. As far as quality, I've been running the same GL's for 2 race seasons and 7 trips to Northstar over the past 2 years. I've bashed them on rocks & trees and they are still holding up. Bottom bracket is solid & only had to remove it once to clean & re-lube after a muddy ride.

I've gone through 2 XT bottom brackets on my 5 Spot and the 3rd one is already creaking.

Anybody try using a diff BB on Shimano cranks?
