I recently converted my stock 1x9 to a SS. Before the conversion the EBB/cranks would get loose easily and have a lot of play. Now with SS, it is a real PITA because it will loosen on every ride and drop the chain. Grrrr.

How do I get it to stay tight?

you can try taking it apart, clean and reassemble with carbon assembly paste.

I was having issues with mine as well; I took out the assembly, sanded out the overspray in the bb shell, greased everything, put it back together, and I've had no issues since. I love my El Mar- great bike.

Is this a Bushnell EBB? If so, have you torqued it to spec. 75-90 inch lbs? I haven't had mine slip, since I got it torqued correctly. If you are just using a regular allen wrench it is hard to crank it down.

EBBs are temperamental you may have to experiment with many different "fixes" before finding the right one for your bike. Even after getting the right fix you may have to redo that fix periodically.

What EBB are you running? I've got a nearly new Carver that you could try out. It slipped in my frame because of the reinforced edges, but, might work for yours. Now it just sits in my parts bin.
