Is there a huge difference between the two years of XO shifters. :?: I've been looking at upgrading the shifters on my Stumpy and I'm finding some decent deals on the '07s.

No Idea of the difference, but I just upgraded from Shimano Deore to SRAM '07 X9 triggers that I bought from Pricepoint. love them. Crisp and smooth. Not the comparison you are looking for, but the money I saved on the '07 was well worth any difference for me.

I heard the new ones make changing the shift cable a pain. I guess the 06/07 were already a bit difficult in the department, but the new ones are even worse. I ride SRAM and still prefer it.

Ditto on difficulty changing the shift cables. I also managed to lose some bearings in mine that are causing the shifter to "hang up". I'm fairly certain it's from my inexperienced maintenance and multiple rides in mud and not a design flaw, however.

I've had the '07 XO components for 16 months doung double duty as training and racing on the MTB and Xterra circuit; like 'em a lot and prefer the shifting action to Shimano.

Just from looking, I can't see any major benefit to '08 vs '07. If you cn get a deal, I say "go for it" followed quickly by "how good of deal?" since I need a new rear.

I've found them at price point ... $160 for both.

I can't say for certain but I don't think there are any changes, they did make changes to the '08 X0 derailleurs though.
