    My feelings...
    1) Dave (aka Old and in the Way) is one of us
    2) He rides with us on a regular basis
    3) His co-workers ride with us
    4) Although the trail has been "sanitized" in spots, overall its condition has been GREATLY improved since Dave has jumped on board
    5) We are fortunate to have city officials who willing to help AND willing to listen
    6) Many of our mountain biking brethren are GUILTY of being inconsiderate of those whom they share the trail with... I don't blame people for complaining!!!
    7) Hmmm...:-k Oh yeah...
Keep up the good work!

    That would be me.

Yes. This is what I'm complaining about.

I'm afraid that everyone else jumping on the bandwagon about the other areas muddied the waters a bit

I am clearly aware where the City has responsibility and have absolutely no issue with this work. It is the self appointed "trail bosses" who do stuff like the post-tunnel area that tick me.

I stand by my earlier statement. Sorry you think I'm a clown... but oh well. I guess my Avatar says is all:beer:

For what it's worth, I love Fullerton loop, it's what introduced me to mtbing and I enjoy it at least once a week, thanks to everyone who has helped make it a fun ride for a newb!

I need to get out there again and see what everyone is complaining about. This is one of my favorite rides. I have been doing it since the Bike Beat days when all the local racers would show up and we could all bust out a night loop in 40 minutes.

    Fully Loop condition after rain?

The rain came as a surprise. Can anyone tell us what the condition looks like this morning?

    Fully Loop and rain

This will be my first rainy season as a mountain biker. Getting antsy not being able to go for a ride.

How well does Fully usually look after a rain? Does it drain fast, or stay muddy for awhile?

It generally holds rain fairly well but last night it rained quite a bit so might want to give it a day or 2 to dry.

Wet today on the loop. I will post a pic of Hiltscher trail later tonite. This is the area after Richman knoll . I ran some caution tape across this section. It has a ravine that has to be filled in on monday. Loop should be fine for Dinos Thursday nite ride. Expecting 80s Thursday.

Here are the pics of the water damage. I know last year alot of accidents happened here. Go to the right of the tree , caution tape might be vandlized by the time you ride. We will add a few loader buckets of dirt in this area Monday morning.
Another area that will be worked on soon is sandy area after Gissom Park and before Parks Rd. Finally found some good dirt to add to this area. Will try to add some rolling jumps if theres enough dirt.

New light install at Euclid St. is delayed due to some problems.

Anyone ride the Loop last night? Did the heat yesterday nearly dry things out?

I'll probably be riding the loop around 10am this morning, and I'll report back with what I find.

I rode it yesterday (Thursday) at around noon. With the exception of the trail damage discussed and shown in the photos above (which is easily avoidable) the rain actually improved many sections. The usual puddle by the railroad tracks is back, but manageable. Would think most sections will be pretty dry by Saturday. Enjoy the dust free riding.

Old and in the Way - thanks for putting up the tape, etc. Very cool of you to be looking out for your fellow Loopers.

I've only ridden the Loop a few times, but once was a few days after some heavy rain, and the areas along the tracks and alongside the golf course were each a gooey, slimy mess. A couple of the descents had some rut issues, but otherwise it seemed OK. Still, there are other places that would be much higher on my post-rain ride priority list.

Just got back from my ride. As others have posted after my post this morning, the Loop is a very good shape. Just a few soft/puddle spots in the usual places.

Old and in The Way- the tape you put up is still there. Thanks for doing that, as I can see why people could go down there with the rain washout.

Thursday nite ride. No slop, just some power-sucking soft dirt, sort of like the feel of riding on a layer of 2" foam rubber... Take the boardwalk along the railroad tracks. Only dust was under the overpass at the tracks. Otherwise traction city.
