Nothing out of the ordinary here. Rode The Mt. Zion/Camp Sturtevant loop, out of Chantry Flats yesterday. Same trail as before, great tacky conditions and great weather. What made the ride enjoyable was the company. Good laughs, good conversation and no spills or mechanicals. Hard to beat that. Wonderful way to start O-Nine!
We ran into KBL (Kevin) on the way down The Gab as he was climbing up it. Chit-chatted for a minute and on our way we all went. Nice meeting you, Kevin!

Peter (BrahMa), Chris (IMALSLO), Dave (Heyheyheyna) and I. Thanks for the great ride boys and a happy new year to all!

I bought some 661's, SPD compatible shoes (Chainlove, baby) for this particular ride. Sidi's are horrible HAB shoes. Although white and not very pretty looking, they did the job and made the HAB much easier and more stable footed, albeit hideous white.

We stopped-into Camp Sturtevant to take a quick break and enjoy the scenery. Chris, aka the energizer bunny, couldn't actually come to a stop so he did something like 24 laps as we became nauseated from watching him.
    He kept going...

Finally, he paused! We were exhausted just watching him do laps. Damn show off! ;)

We need to get all the old riders back together for a ride. Call it," Blast from the Past". Chris & Pete on the same ride, wow. I thought Chris had gone into the light and was riding that beautiful Jamis roadie.

Nice to see you guys out getting there.

Sorry, I missed this one ( did I miss the PM?).
No biggie, we did the Palm Canyon Epic today.

Mike, Chris is a lot like SB. They both always claim they "never" ride but yet, they manage to hand everyone their asses, up and down. You do the b.s. math.

As for the PM for invite. For one, you were in Sedona (so I thought). Secondly, you're too core for us amateurs, big guy. ;)

An old school ride sounds good. Who knows, just maybe we can even entice K-Dub to make the trek from the evil three-ten and the ol' hippie from Sedona to join us. Nuttier things have happened.

I dunno bout that Joe. If we ride the Arryo we will be crossing those tricky stream crossings. Even though he's on a Turner nowdays I still don't know if he has the skills to get across that. We might have to bring OPP90210 to lead the way and show him the way.

SB, if you had said you got schooled by FatPussy, I would be more inclined to feel sorry for you but Scott...c'mon man! The Marlbro Man is like a skinny nuclear machine. Just keeps going and going, then waits for you at the top while sucking on a fag and looking at you like where have you been!? Nothing could possibly be more humbling!

Almost forgot, when we all returned to our parked vehicles, we were left with some useless paper gifts from our friendly local bored ranger so I decided to put mine to good use and recycle, once home...

It was great to meet you guys.

My chosen route was a little 'backward,' but it worked well for me.

I rode Upper Winter Creek, down Lower Winter Creek, up the Gabrielino (where I saw you guys), up the back side of Mt. Zion and then down the front side to the junction above Hoegee's. I took Upper Winter Creek back to the parking lot.

'Twas a perfect day for the trails.
