Pt Magu for Thanksgiving....mostly because of good friends and 70 degree temps as the sunset. Fantastic.

For me, probably exploring both sides of Big Bear. The first picture is above Castle Rock and the third is above the Pacific Coast Trail on the other side of the lake. And, yes, we picked up our bikes and hiked the PCT section.

09/27/09 The first day back on my bike after three months off with a shattered heel. Didn't know whether to cry from the happiness or cry from the pain.

    Too many to choose from!

I just can't pick one! Bottom line is I had a great year on the bike. Here is my breakdown:

Photo 1: Started off on New years day with a ride from my house. As you can see there was snow and frozen whoop-de-doos that you would break the ice on every one. The ride was actually miserable (just look at crazysue's expression), but it set precedence for better rides to come; and they sure did...

Photo 2: Summer evening rides in Wrightwood most every Wednesday. Sure makes the workweek more tolerable with this to look forward to.

Photo 3: STR organized rides. I went on several this year and met some great folks and had blast at every single one. Even the one that Sue broke her wrist on!

By the way 2010 is kicking off well... to be continued...

No pix but it was a road ride in Red Rock Canyon, Vegas in which I had poor nutrition and bonked big time yet I got to ride with my brother-in-law who never gave me a rough time about it...even when he had to wait for me to walk the bike up the hill. It was great scenery, awesome company and just a heck of a morning.

All rides are great rides. But generally my favorite is the Cannell Plunge, Just Outstanding and the McGill trail and all within 45 minutes from my front door. Can't beat that with a stick.

2009 was the year I discovered how much I love MTBing. I enjoyed every minute I had on the bike. Out of the garage rides and destination rides were all good. However to narrow it down my standout rides were: the San Juan Trail ride with mtbbiker, a solo ride from Hurkey Creek to Ernie Maxwell and back, and the Palm Canyon STR group ride to end the year.

If 2010 is as good or better than 2009...holy cow!
