I am up in Mammoth as well until Thursday. Let me know if you want to hook up for a ride!

2 miles of very steep HABing, once up on the ridges close to the June Mountain lifts very ridable over to Yost Lake maybe 4 miles of buffness. Decent back down is chunky, loose, narrow and scary...I will do it again but not for a few years. Trailhead is across from balancing boulder at June Lake Fire station.

Leaving in the AM...back to work just a weekend trip.

So how was the trail? Where's it start from?

The trail was amazing, and well worth the effort it took to get to the top!
And the descent was freak'n FUN! Like Dean said, it was chunky, loose, and narrow. The hikers we saw were amazed we were riding bikes down it!
I'd do it again in a heart beat!
