February 20th is the same day as a Southridge xc race. I know it'd be tough to organize, but perhaps have a way for people at the race to donate. Or maybe wait until the Southridge Winter Final on March 6-7 and see if you can get a booth or table to take donations.

Frickin' cars just never seem to be careful around bikers on the roads. The sad part is, there never seems to be a solution, except for bikers to ride defensively as Hell, and I'm sure a great rider like Yoshio was riding defensively. Hate to hear of bikers being hit.

Coates Cyclery is hosting this ride in order to help raise sufficient funds to ensure that Yoshio can continue to receive the best care and rehabilitation possible. We believe in Yoshio’s strength of body and strength of spirit.

We believe that Yoshio will heal. We believe, so we ride.

Road Ride:
25 mile loop through Pomona, Walnut, Covina, & San Dimas (Keep in mine it’s a fun ride and there will
be re-group points)

Mt. Bike Ride:
This will be a no-drop ride from the shop for a counter-clockwise loop through Bonelli Park. we will ride from the shop through La Verne on surface streets to the trail head @ Bracket Air Field. Once everyone is accounted for, we will head back to the shop where the ride will
end as all rides should - with tacos and refreshments.

I belive that thats the second time, possibly the third time that has been pointed out as well.

and a bit of a repeat, while I hope for a speedy recovery, adn that all ends up coming out well.........But yes, The rider was indeed at fault for the accident.

Please dont blame drivers in general over this.....





So as of today, any more of an update at all? I know about teh ICU, improvement, and still in a coma? Nothing more yet?

 

While it is cool posting this ride in the STR calendar, its probably a good idea to use the "ride 2 support Yoshio" facebook page if you can as well http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=291873988007&ref=ts since Coates may be counting on that list to calculate how much refreshment is needed after the ride.

Hey guys, just thought I'd update this thread and pass on some good news from a friend of mine that saw Yoshio last night. Apparently, Yosh is not only awake, but he's also talking.

The last update I had before this one was a few weeks ago, and even though he was awake then, he still wasn't able to communicate verbally. So, this is a big step forward, and not only that, but it sounds like he is already talking about getting back on the bike. Right on, Yosh!

Rigo Meza Hi to all Yoshio followers he is now awake and talking. He did say "I can't wait to ride my bicycle"...his recovery is real good. I will update soon with the address of the place Yoshio is recovering in, so everyone can visit him. Yoshio says hi to everyone! Here is of photo of Yoshio and I.
