Anyone coming from the LA area who´would be interested in carpooling?
Are there bike restrictions in place for the lift or is it open to all bikes?
Hope to meet you all there.

Grr i really wanted to go but i don't think i'd be able to make it in time after work, for those of you who live in the area (i'm in whittier) how long does it take to drive up there? I'm stoked to go but i don't wanna miss the group and end up riding by myself all day. Is it a session pass like snowboarding or how does it work? ok 21 questions over, thanks - sean

$20 for an all day lift ticket

    1. Bikes must be less than 35 pounds.
    2. Designated tire size must be less than 2.5.
    3. Front shock must have less than 6 inches of travel.
    4. Bikes must have three chain rings unless they are single speed. (This one is not enforced)

I wouldn't be either jealous or offended and IF I had a DH rig I would try and get away with it, regardless of how anyone else felt!!! It could be the last time Summit has lift assisted biking according to their signage.

Layers!!! You don't want to over/under dress. Be prepared to add/subtract clothing as needed.

    1. Long moto or wool snowboard/ski socks under your knee/shin guards.
    2. Latex (like in the Dr. office) gloves worn under your normal bike gloves will keep your hands plenty warm.
    3. Arm warmers, or a thin jacket (sweatshirt is way to hot/bulky)
    4. Long sleeve jersey or some sort of sports undershirt (i.e. Dryfit) that wicks the sweat.
    5. Some sort of head/ear covering if your noggin/ears are prone to cold (i.e. bandana, etc.)

    Hmmm
My bike is about 34 pounds, 2.35 tires, 6inch rear travel but 6.3 up front but is a single crown. The travel can be reduced to about 4 inches though. Do you think i have a chance of getting it on the lift?
Also have a dual chain ring:-s

I would say you are fine, I don't think they are that hard on the 6" rule that it cant be 6.3 and many people have got away with dual rings.
And if they kill you for a few mm then I am out too as are quite a few people I think.

You should have no problem. My husband rides his RFX with a Fox Talas 36 and dual chainring.

Nancy, Do you have any problem with your hands sweating inside the latex and slipping? I have some nice thin nitrile gloves I was contemplating wearing inside of my gloves for a cold/wet/wind barrier.

I wear them inside my regular bike gloves. Yes they sweat but they stay warm and there is no slippage involved. I used to wear thick gloves or 2 pairs of gloves but I don't like the bulky feel!!

    Weather Forecast
