not "taking sides" just saying

Hmm. For a second there I thought you were implying that because his apartment burned and he lost everything he owned and this site came together to help him out, that he doesn't have the right to ask a legitimate question.

i couldnt find thread exploding, so this is the next best one

look at it this way.... these are private message boards. The moderators choose to run them as they see fit (i dont agree with some of the choices, but i dont run the site.... neither do you), so if the moderators choose not to allow links to certain sites, then so be it. (childish as it is)

but it is what it is.

Sounds like a good way to stir the shit up, and with all due respect may rub people who contributed to helping the guy out, the wrong way.

again, outsider looking in, and just my humble opinion.

So lets all hop on our ****ing bikes and go ride some dirt.

I agree with you 100%. But I'm not the one who asked the question--Sladnas was. I'm just saying that despite what this site did for him, he still has the right to ask.

no...what i was saying is that why i am not familiar with the issue nor get involved in all the bs that seems to always develop for a while now, imo str is a made up of cool peeps including those (i.e. the mods/founder) that keep the site "operating". pretty much it.

i have some great friends on eh board, some very active, some much less than in the past but most all good peeps again including the mods

oh you mean the bike that a lot of people pitched in on to replace with a WAY better one... but sladnas had the money to upgrade and bling out :?:

i thought that was pretty lame actually, and surprised no one that put in money called him out on. if I had, I would have.

I guess I just did, whoops ;)

I hear you. I think we all have an opinion--one way or the other--and we are all entitled to it. I was just expressing mine. In the long run, I don't give a crap one way or the other. It's only the internet. It's not real life.

i got no dog in this fight. I like the people i ride with and the friends i have met here, and i read several boards (just like all of you :) )

So... since everyone else is pussyfooting around with what they want to say, i will say what they are thinking :)

Sure; he has a right to ask. by all means.

my take:
If the site had bought me a bike with donations, i would probably be the last one to question the motives or go against the flow of the site that helped me out out of gratitude.

so much drama lately .... lets all go do a tubeless conversion or something

I hope you're kidding.

I don't think my gratitude towards anyone is lessened. I was asking a question because it came up in a PM.

I'm sorry if anyone was offended because of it, or because I...of all people were to bring it up. Everyone needs a stiff drink. Talk to you all later.

I guess I should apologize to everyone after encountering a problem of banned words when I tried to reply to Sladnas' PM to me. I should have taken it off line on to e-mail. But worse, it's sad to see that threads can degrade into personal attacks in a page now on this website, whether people are kidding or not.

The site didn't do that. Members of the site did. The founder did not have the idea for bike relief, it was SAR_boats who had the idea. A bunch of people, a very small portion of which were the founder and mods, contributed. I'm sure he's grateful for it as well.

The majority of the people who contributed were "regular guys" who don't run or moderate this site. I contributed, and I think it's a legit question for him to ask.
