I'll run one again. Will set it up tomorrow.

This year I'm only allowing people to sign themselves up on the waiting list. No more signing 3 or 4 other people up... if they want it, they can contact me.

If you would like to be added to the list, PM me your info or email jcdambrun [at] yahoo.com and I will add in the order received. Include which list you want to be on (VQ or CC) and your email address. I will not be listing phone numbers.

Members who drop out of the VQ or CC, please PM members so the both of you can work out details.

For those who do buy into someone's spot, please contact the WS so your info gets entered and the person whom you've replaced will be removed. There will be a $25.00 transfer charge payable to charities yet to be determined.

When you get a spot, please let me know so I can remove your name from the main list so you don't continue to receive PMs/emails.

Just a suggestion for the future; maybe it should go to a lottery.
XX% for previous riders and 100-XX% for new riders.
Just seems a little better than a race to get in a race.
Maybe it's just sour grapes on my part - but I think people who have been in it in the past should maybe get a leg up on new riders.

Let me point out that I have never done it; but have a friend who's done like 6 (maybe more?) CC's and got shut out of the VQ this year.

Last year there were 33 people who were signed up that did not start between the Vision Quest and the Counting Coup. It's really a shame and such a waste when there are so many people wanting to be a part of the event. I hope those who are not ready when the Pow Wow comes will make an effort to transfer their spots.

I realized about an hour before midnight that I was already signed up for another race that day. Good luck to everyone who got in. Don't flake, your lucky to be registered.

For those who are new to this scenario and didn't get a spot, see Jeff D's post above about a waiting list. Every year many people sign up with the best of intentions, but for a variety of reasons they aren't able to follow through. There are always spots to be bought, especially as it gets close to the event date and folks realize they're not ready. So get on the official wait list and put in the miles as if you expect to be in it.

See you at the start line, and good luck to all!

Just to be perfectly clear on the waiting list that jeff^d is doing(thank you Jeff),The Warrior Society is not in any way responsible or have any control who gets in off of this list.

    From the WS website:
There are no refunds but we will allow the transfer of your spot in the event if you are unable to participate due to injury or other issues. There will be a $25.00 transfer charge payable to charities yet to be determined. No Transfers will be allowed after March 19th

Sorry Mark, but it's not the same. Don't worry, if your are really serious about it, you'll get a spot and so will Dave.

It's always been a 1st come 1st serve policy. It doesn't matter if Lance Armstrong wanted in, he has to be up at midnight just like the rest. The only ones who can get in without the hassles of staying up at midnight are WS members like myself and sponsors of this event.

VQ #1 for me, single speed.

Did the '08 & '09 Traverse. If I can survive the '08 Traverse, I figure I have a decent enough shot at VQ. '09 CC Single Speed/rigid.
