I think they took bags to aid station #1 when I first did the CC--about 6-7 yrs ago. ;)

I decided that I want to do the VQ again. Since I didn't get in, I'll just ride alongside you all.....

Good luck to all & have fun!

A little chart for the VQ

I've plotted the major climbs for the VQ. Sort of a surprise that the initial climb of Trabuco is as tough as any other (but a lot more fun), then after the junction it's really steep.

The total WHT climb is about 2x tough as climbing Blackstar and beyond (same climb in half the distance of twice the climb in the same distance :)).

Good luck and good riding to all.

Cool graph. I would like to see some regressions on those to compare steepness. The gradual part of Blackstar climb makes it appear to be the easiest of the climbs, but I think the slope (discounting Hidden Ranch) is greater for Blackstar than for Maple. That said, WHT takes the prize for worst climb.

UPDATE: I am a total dork.

So like an idiot I thought Wednesday and Thursday actually meant Thursday and Friday for packet pick up. Good news is I got my one mistake for the mission out early and nobody got hurt. Bad news is I'll be getting to check-in a little earlier than anticipated. I know wristband check-in starts at 5, but what time is packet pick-up starting? Before 5?

"You may also pick up your packet the day of the event at the start from 4:30 am to 5:00 am"
