Who has a Mammoth trip planed already

if I find carpool folk, I might be enticed to go up again. who knows that at this point. mammoth plans have a habit of materializing on thursday evening....

 

Just got back, had a blast. Except for the blood and skin and rear deraileur deposits on made on Skid Marks. Nevegal in front + pumice + high speed + fail! The Uzzi now has Continental Der Kaisers 2.5 front and rear, a new deraileur and dropouts, ready for Brian Head Super D!!!

 

I am going up next Monday through Sunday... basically all next week. Bringing both the XC and DH bike, plan on mostly DH until the girlfriend shows up for the weekends wine festival. We'll most likely XC ride in the morning and be drinking wine in the afternoon over the weekend. If anyone is heading up and wants a riding partner, I am game to join up for some good DH fun! Shoot me a message.

 

I have plan to be up there at the end of the month for little bit of camping, fishing, mountain biking, and hiking...

 

Just got back from Mammoth....trails are in good shape.need some afternoon rain to settle the dust. I spoke with the bike park crew and they said they are trying to finish up the Twilight Zone...At the bottom there are going to be 5 - 7 kickers...the first being a 15ft air to a series of doubles.

 

T-minus 8 hours and counting....round 2!

 

Me too..I'll be there for the week. probably won't be on the lift untill Monday or Tuesday though.

 

if anyone is interested my brother and myself are going sept 12-15 if anyone wants to go..

 

I plan on heading up that time frame, I beleive. ??

I have two weeks vacation around that date. I will confirm on Wed.

sprinklers???? sweet jumps????? is this really mammoth??? :bang:

 

Yes, I was there last week and there is a new "X" feature and the Uptown trail goes right under it. I saw the sprinkler hoses close by, too.

 

They are pretty good jumps, not to big and have a decent lip and made for everyone. The run in to the first one could be a little better but if you clear them after that there is enough speed to hit the next one. The second one with the wood on top is hard to tell what its going to be as you come up to it but after you know what it is is not big deal. The last one runs out right into a pumice field so its not the greatest. It would be cool if it was longer run, there are only 5-6 but I guess I am a little spoiled.

 

Any body going up there 9-4-10 Thu 9-5-10 or 9-11-10 thru 9-12-10 or 9-25-10 thru 9-26-10. Let me know. I like to go up there. I would like to split the cost gas hotel or camping anything that will split the cost. I just want to go up to mammoth and ride for the first time. Hit me up if anyone is interest.

 

You can scratch 9/25-9/26 off your list because the bike park closes on 9/19.

 

Ohh wow, those jumps look awesome. I loved twilight zone before those were added. I could only imagine how awesome this trail is now!

Did you make it up on Friday? Every other rider in the US did, the lift line Friday was way nuttier than earlier in the week.

Last week was my first time in the park, a few of the rock gardens are still a little over my head, but the wooden features were fun! My only complaint about Twilight Zone is that it's too short!

It looks like I might get some lift-access pumice in Wednesday to Friday this week! Stoked!
