Anybody ridden it in recent months? Must be a good year ago it was super rutted and riddled with hiker trash—not huge fun. Thanks for any info.

Not I. Also wonder about Smashmouth, haven't heard much of it in awhile either.

Taking the 990 up this weekend. I'll take a look from the top.

Saw fire crew hiking up Skinsuit and heli rescuing someone [not sure if hiker / biker] about 2-3 weeks ago. Bottom looked rutted up. Did Wardlow and super rutted and loose.

Thanks, guys. I must be pretty green...not familiar with the 990 or Wardlow :-k

dc, vino and I did SM sometime ago—a year maybe. Prolly behind the times on conditions, but it seemed in good condition for what it is.

Anyone who wants to join in is welcome. Skinsuit is a rolling ridge to steeper dirt slopes (likely rutted) leading down to the Corona side, then up Skyline Drive (tag Sierra Peak for extra credit), back down BS (with ST variations* off the fire road).

*Beek's to Hidden Valley (never done it) and Ireland if the former doesn't bypass it.

Road it a few weeks ago. It is still pretty darn rutted and loose. Don't know if that ever changes though? It was all rideable. road it in the afternoon and didn't run into anyone let alone hikers.

    Where is smash mouth?

Ah, thanks for clearing up the nomenclature, vino. I was talking Smashface, of course #-o

Thanks, oskin. It had minimal ruts a couple years ago, and definitely less garbage. (Note to self: Bring trash bag and take break(s) on the way down.)

Vince, up Blackstar, right at Beeks, after a couple of uphills on Main Divide, SS peels off a sweeping right turn going to the left. You can see it heading out the ridge from MD. There must be a Geoladders entry for it (?)
