While my fork is getting PUSHed I have nothing better to do than rip it apart my bike and clean everything up.   I also put on new shifters and all new cabling/housing.

Should be a brand new bike in no time!

So what's the approximate arrival date of your "new" fork? Are you sure you haven't fallen in love with the Epic and want to trade Craig bikes :D

Sounds like a good time to practice wheelies :D

Actually I have a nice SS just your size if you want to give it a try.

Not sure of arrival date. I sent it out last Tuesday and it takes 3-5days for PUSH to work on it. So Im guessing middle of next of week due to the slowness of holidays.

Hey Rob or anybody else. When I re-cable my Avids Mechs. am I better doing FULL HOUSING or leaving GAPS with cable exposed in spots???

word on the wheelies 8)

If you want to run full housing on your shifter cables then you have to drill out the cable stops on the frame. You can use a dremel, but I'd highly recommend you tape up the frame around the cable stops so you don't scratch the crap out of it. Honestly though, it really isn't worth the trouble unless you ride in mud a lot....which we don't here in so cal.

Allright cool.

Should I get those AVID FLAK or STRAIGHT JACKETS or just buy any old cable and housing??

Rob, what tape or protector stuff do you use on your frames?

I use flak jackets, they are good stuff! I use it on all my bikes. It is a bit more pricey than most but I think the quality is better and it will last longer.

Dino got me that frame protector stuff, think he got it at Ace Hardware....it works great for cable rub areas.

Sounds like it was a good time for you to take your bike apart with the down time. I did go to ACE HARDWARE and found that clear "grip tape" type stuff. It works great as frame protection. So far, only the ACE in Belmont Shore has had it, I went to 3 others one time trying to find it and came up short. Let me know if you want some, it is fairly cheap and I can buy it for ya and give it to you next time we ride.

my bike is up and rolling for good now!

NEW: cables, LX shifter, brake pads, KING headset, 05 TALAS RLC
