    ^How was it?

I recently had both a 93 and 95 version, both were waaaaay beyond tasty... Neither was skunky, but all that was left was malt and a funky kind of mint flavor.

Oh god...that was by far one of the worst beers I have EVER had in my life, eclipsed only by it's demonic twin from hell, Crime. Just the thought of it is making me reach for tums and a new tongue.

That said, I saw it's being bottled; maybe give high times in costa mesa a call? Town and country in fullerton was always a good spot for rare releases since no one expected them to be there, and Vendome gets their fair share too. If you're heading south, maybe the Pizza Port bottle shop in Carlsbad? Never a bad time time to hit that place up...

So damn good that I paid 16 bucks again to grab another one for the cooler. It's been described as sex in your mouth. Double Bastard taken to another level.

Well damn, I guess I'll have track some down. I love Double Bastard anyway, especially with some age on it. Can't wait to try this.

As for me, it's a whiskey night - having some High West Rendezvous Rye and about to sit down with a good book. Life is good, my friends.

I managed to get one at Whole Foods in Laguna Niguel. They had plenty. I agree the pepper flavor is a little over the top. I didn't find the heat to be unbearable though.

sorry for late response...the 92 was very tasty...smooth...hints of plum..nice finish...thought I had a very slight hint of oxidation...but so little..and only I noticed it..prob a user error. Still have a '92 in the cabinet. We gotta ride/drink soon!

totally agree. bearable heat, just too much habenero flavor, especially the burps.

just a strange beer overall. it would make a kick ass michelada, but that one expensive michelada.

If it weren't for the price I'd buy it again and cut it 50/50 with regular Double Bastard to see how that goes over. I think that Ballast Point got the beer/pepper balance perfect with their Habanero Sculpin, and Stone took that idea and ran with it a little too far IMO. Then again, what else do you expect from them?

Had the Firestone 17th Anniversary Ale today! Now that's a big boy beer and another winner from Firestone. Haven't had anything from them that I haven't enjoyed drinking.
