I did a quick solo ride yesterday from bottom of Mandeville Canyon up Westridge fireroad to dirt Mullholland to Kenter Fireroad to Hollyhock single track back down Mandeville Canyon.

It was hot and humid, and I really suck on climbs under those conditions. Anyways, I noticed that they are starting to grade Kenter Fireroad. They had from the gate off of dirt mullholland to the end of the first climb done. A big road-grader, rather than a dozer, was parked up there so hopefully that means they're not going to touch the single track that parallels the fireroad.

Hollyhock single track is really overgrown with tinder dry vegetation (think straw or hay) and probably needs some brush clearance soon. The overgrowth makes it hard to see hikers comming up so be careful. I also noted about 6 or more dog poop bags along the side of the trail. It agravates me when dog owners do that. If you're going to bag it, then pack it out; otherwise, carry a small shovel and burry it or something.

After last weekend's roadrage incident in the canyon, I found myself checking behind me for cars comming down mandeville canyon more than usual.
