Welcome to STR

Thanks, J. Don't get me wrong, it's impressive as hell to see someone in full battle gear come flying past me as I lug my Kikapu up Mathis, Dreaded, Mustard or the back side of South Ridge.

I'm just the strong, slow, silent type. Either that or just a wimp...

Oh yeah, I guess I also have to admit to loving Bovinian & Raptor out at Carbon Canyon. So I'm not completely anti-DH.

Mil gracias, guero. Glad to be here.

Though I've only been a member of the Kult of Kona for about a month. Got a great deal online for the frame and gave up my beloved KHS hardtail.

It was hard to do, but I am loving the Kikapu.

Here is one

please take me off of the list! I'm much better and now back to lifting the heavy flower pots that threw out my back in the 1st place!

ps- great list, btw.

Don't ask 26'er Zen Master or 29Wheels what is the best mountain bike wheel size[-X#-o:lol:

Change #6.

Chris,

You need to change #6 from Mtber3737 to OMR, I had George change my user name since most know me now by that.

Hopefully see you this Sat for Gene's ride.

Thanks,

Gregg

:welcome: I have much to prove and will wave at you on my way down. I climb, but only so I can descend. I promise not to run you over. You of course, will hear my "bear bell" as I wisk by you. :bang:

Thanks for the welcome, even if it wasn't just for me. I was riding Aliso last weekend with a buddy and he ran into some guys with STR jerseys and they all turned me on to this site. And even though nobody would shut up about my Vermin rear tire (YES, I get all the grip I need!), they seemed like good guys and made me want to check the site out.

I'm a teacher enjoying the last precious weeks of summer and have been riding every day. I live a stone's throw from the Fully Loop and ride that at least 2-3 times a week. I also like to get out to Carbon Canyon (for some reason ya'll call it Chino Hills), Whiting & did Aliso last weekend for the first time.

I tell ya, if Mathis were about 4x longer with no downhill (honestly, can Meadows have any more switchbacks!?!), I'd be in heaven. Give me a long, steep climb and I'm just peachy. I'll save the downhills for the show-offs with something to prove ;-) Still, I have to admit that Rock-it was fun & I love the Live Oaks single track at Whiting. But, I'll still take a climb over a descent any day.

Anyway, look forward to meeting some of ya'll soon!
