Ah... the concerns and hang ups roadies must deal with. A real head trip to have to STOP , esp when there is no xtraffic, just a cop watching during your morning ride when half the city is asleep. Some of the better attributes in S.D. county is not too far from the "city" is what seems like never ending assfault ribboning thru the hills and mtns to the east.

Isn't Montrose an area close to where there is bad damage to the trails (terrain) due to the station fire? I hope you all don't suffer form big mud from rain this year.

    Ride often , ride safe!

That Montrose to which you referred is in the Crescenta Valley and near the fire areas between La Crescenta and La CaƱada.

Not the same Montrose as described in the OP.

The police were out in force this morning. From Pasadena on there seemed to be a cruiser every 10 min or so. It felt like they had assigned escort vehicles to the Montrose ride.

I heard a few riders got tickets for stop signs in Sierra Madre but didn't see anyone get tickets for red lights at least. The pack was especially cautious regarding the lights this week, probably due to the warnings (which amounted to a VERY jittery and difficult pack).

There is no need for this type of post. That may fly on MTBR or elsewhere but not on STR. Let's play nicely now.
