Bill, while I support the mtb organizations you've mentioned and applaud you for brining them to everyone's attention, the thing to keep in mind with regards to this particular thread is the $$$ it takes to maintain and improve STR. IMHO, it's rather unfair to make a statement that if someone cannot contribute to other mtb organizations, then they should not contribute towards the financial support of STR. This site is "home" to a close knit group of people, some of whom would probably not venture out to ride if it weren't for the support and encouragement they've found through STR. For that reason I chose to support STR in any way I'm able. Again, that doesn't mean I'm not supportive of other mtb groups. BTW, I also enjoy your site and appreciate your ride reports.
Perhaps, if more awareness is needed about contributing towards the above mentioned mtb groups someone could start a new thread.

Very good points as well! I remember when George first started STR, he spent all his own money on hosting, servers, and stayed up late nights designing the forum - while he was a poor college student. Supporting STR is definitely a worthy cause!

If it were not for STR, I would not know most trail etiquette and would have been "one of those guys" that everyone talks about who ruins it for everyone else. So STR does provide some form education that benefits the MTB world.

Considering I have been around for 3+ yrs and have sold many parts on this site I have decided to kick down a years subscription from my last sale to the Pimp...my recent subscription has nothing to do w/ the "Day of Silence"...it's soley to keep the site running(I don't use the 250 PM storage as it is)....if you can let me know what the date will be(pm if necessary) I will abide by the lockout....oh and I'd prefer a STR Dirty girl to deliver my warm fuzzy feeling(No offense to Steppie)

    I'm in!

I totally support boning up for the sites/movies/events that give our community a little more personal feel and build a strong community.

Nobody's getting rich off this stuff and as a president of another member site (motorcycles) I know how time consuming and oftentimes expensive these things can be when they come out of your own pocket.

So, my thanks, my $40, and my respect.

Bout time Tani, you have always had a good following but no local shop who utilizes P2P networks like this can deny the value added. I want to get my own little Thingy but first need to focus on supporting my family, someday though and soon.

I think a good addition - if possible- would be to add more space for avatars. That way we can have cool GIF's :p

We should really keep this bumped time to time. I know i tend to take this site for granted and totally forgot about chipping in a little $$$ till today.
