Ok I see. I'll contact our webmaster and let know cause that conflicts the info we have on the WS website where it states a "No refund" policy. Thanks for the heads up though.

That may be something that Active is offering. May have nothing to do with us.

It is an Active thing, I see that on every event I register for.

That's what I thought....just another way for Active to make a few extra bucks.

How can Active offer a refund when we or other organizers do not? Who's going to give the refund when it states on our website:
All entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-deferrable. We have to plan well in advance and therefore cannot offer refunds. You may not give or sell your number to another individual. The entry fee for a 2014 event WILL NOT transfer to the 2015 event, no exceptions. This policy stays in effect whether you are injured, have unexpected business, a family emergency, etc. Sorry, there are NO exceptions.

if they can get a bunch of people to sign up for insurance, and only have a few pay outs, they are still in the green. this on top of whatever they're charging the WS per entry and they can't really lose.

sounds like it is an Active program. They charge an extra $7 to everyone...kinda like travel insurance. They offer the refund....we don't lose the money.

I hope WS has checked the fine print with Active.com. I have heard of them (Active) doing shady stuff and would hate for them to be offering refunds that ultimately come from Warrior's Society funding.

Active would ultimately have full access to WS accounting/funding and by pass anything or anyone in WS in order for them to implement a refund as per Active ?

I agree with prior post's, i also seen this insurance policy for 7bucks !

Yep. I paid the $7 bucks for the insurance since life might get in the way of training for the event. Here is a copy of the confirmation from the 3rd party insurer. Dear XXXX,

documents with you. If you did not receive a Certificate of Insurance/Policy, or
would like another copy, please call 1-888-497-6987.
Name of your plan: Registration Protector
    Policy identification number: ACTUS80000XXXXX
    Per Registration Cost: $97.33
    Who it insures: XXXXX
    Purchase date: October 1, 2013
    Event date: April 5, 2014
    Amount paid: $7.00
Thanks again for purchasing Registration Protector insurance from us.
    Sincerely,
    Mark Henson

Just to verify what has already been posted by mtnbikej and Sprankle, I emailed Barry our webmaster who sets up the registration on Active.com and he said that it's an Active.com program that they set up with another company underwriting it so it shouldn't have any affect on the WS regarding refunds.

If you purchased the $7 insurance, it would be Active.com who would be responsible to refund your money, not the WS. The open slot would not be refilled with a new rider and we will stick to the policy that is currently in place as stated in my previous post.

Actually, ALLIANZ GLOBAL ASSISTANCE is the insurer that is responsible for the refund.

Basically, you only get refunded if you have a doctors note for an injury, you have a doctors note for a family member who requires care, you die, or your car breaks down within 48 hours or the race date. Sadly, not training and deciding not to race is not listed.

Good to know. I would've hated Active pulling cash from WS for something that has obviously been a a CC/VQ policy for years now.

Stay strong and pedal long CC/VQers.
