Ride Report Turnbull: 1 Pato: 0/Turnbull madness, complete with crash video

"are you OK? is the bike OK?" Classic.

Pato the crash looks nasty but im glad you're ok.

I was thinking of showing on this ride, at least that was the plan. I woke up today and still feeling the effects of SART ride. so i decided to go to the beach with the whole family.

sorry to missed this ride, but i will be there next time. Pato dont do that again, at least the crashing part. I know you will clear it.

I looked this video over you did nothing to wrong the tree knocked you allover the place while in the air.#-o

Your wheel was turned and you where out of line before you hit the ground. If you where straight and your wheel was straight you would have made it. The distance was good you where a little to far back but it still would have worked.:bang::clap: That was great.
You are the man.

you guys have to watch it in slow motion

pato- that crash was way more graceful than mine. i'm glad you'll live to huck another day.

HOWEVER: pato is actually only 12 and should never have been allowed to compete at this level.

If you look at the video, looks like you landed a little off balance and your front wheel was already pointing to the right vs. straight. Or like you said, not enough wait on the front wheel.

Yeah, I seen the same thing Joe did. Wheel was already turned and it looked like you were about to bail even before the bike landed,

Upon further review of the video on a big screen and frame by frame, my initial assessment was correct. My speed was good, but what did me in was not a fault of my form. Between the 30 -31 second mark, as I come through the branches, me and the front of the bike get pulled back as evidenced by the sudden upward motion of my front end. Prior to that the bike was somewhat parallel to the ground.

So Dino, have the branches been trimmed yet? I need to try to clean that again.

Duc, how are you feeling today?

My upper body is very sore. My neck is super stiff and I can't extend my right shoulder or bear any weight with it. Other than that, I'm ok. Thanks for asking.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and well wishes.

dirtvert, your postings are always so funny!

Holy crap dude! That was incredible...definitely way more balls than I could even think of having on a bike...

We are hoping to start riding with you guys again. It will be nice once the heat is not so bad, too - Sherri liked Turnbull a bunch, and she is OK now and we are going to start road riding again (along with some Fully loops) soon to at least get back in shape a little...

Anyway, glad you're OK, dude...

Whoever attempts it next, MUST get video of it! I wanna see!

Tara, it would be my sincere hope that NO ONE try it until "someone" takes a shovel to it. The take-off is quite a few feet back of the chain link fence, it slopes down (not flat or with an upward lip AND..... nevermind! #-o

Hopefully, "someone" (cough) will get over there the next few days with a shovel and some dirt! ;)

Pato, you get an A+ for effort!

My hat is off to you... VERY inspiring!

Hopefully you're not too beat-up from crashing. :-s

Duc, went there yesterday with 4 others (3 of whom were their first Turnbull visit). Pointed out the launch pad to them and all of them said, "...I didn't even notice it there!". Told them that if it wasn't for the tree branches, it would have been a picture perfect for Pato.

Hope you're feeling much better.

Good news, bad news, grasshopper.

I've got no true skills to speak of. I just throw myself at things at hope for the best.

The good news is that you will outgrow this type of thinking... the bad news is you may not make it that far...

Glad nothing was really broken...

Ride-on! :bang:

you forgot the mention the branches have been cleared ;), rode A line the other day and at least the branches are not a factor now.. the sketchy take off still is though #-oi've never looked at it that hard before, it's a pretty big jump, a lot bigger than it looks on that video

Feeling ok for the most part. Shoulder is still hurt and range of motion is not the greatest, but it'll do until I get it checked out next week.

Sounds like someone's been prepping for my second coming. As soon as I get my fork back, I'll hit it again and hopefully clean it this time. [-o-]

you did clear it, cleared some of the branches thats on the way.

i hope "someone" invite me to ride turnbull this weekend.;)
