Awww F! Did I really get ANOTHER one from this website?!?! My Microsoft Security Essentials caught something earlier this morning but reading this thread got me curious, so go to look at what it caught... and yeah Security Essentials is not running like usual and cant open it... this is getting OLD! How does this work through STR? Is it a thread or a link or an ad? How does it affect people's pc through STR?

EDIT: Okay good, I didn't get anything. MSE did catch the genome one earlier today. I dunno why MSE wouldn't open but I killed msseces.exe in the task manager list and was able to then reopen it with no problems.

If it's the Windows Defender malware some of you have, it'll probably be quicker to just do wipe & reinstall than fart around with everything you need to do to get rid of that. I wasted 4 hours trying a half-dozen different approaches on three infected machines this weekend before I found one that actually worked, and then it still took another 45 minutes of mucking around in & out of safe mode, tracking down crap in the reg, & a pile of scattered files all over the place. Sucked.

    I'll root yo nix son

anyways, it appears that socaltrailriders.org is trying to install a 'missing plugin'. did you (str admins) add something to the site to require a plug in? Windows XP 32 SP2 using Firefox. AVG didn't detect anything.

this is on my work computer.
