Warren, let us know when you're coming - on the SCV Dirtbags forum. I'm starting to plan a sufferfest for October (I think) "tour of the Sierra Pelonas" with about 80 miles of all dirt goodness and 11-12K of climbing. Trying to figure out how to squeeze in as much single track as possible and keep total time under 10 hours. Fun!

Ok everyone, we are 4 weeks away from the Glendora XC Grind, Round #1 of the Triple Crown Series.
Last series of the year and it will come & go before you know it. Perfect for 1st timers.
This is where it starts for many of you 1st timers. My 1st race was up in Big Bear, 6500 ft of elev. Ouch!!!
Be scared, be worried, be nervous. But most of all, be brave & race.

Hey Bro- here's my two cents for this course... I would err more on the side of faster rolling than more bite. You don't need traction on any climbs so make sure your rear tire rolls well. There is one loose descent on the backside but it's short- maybe 40 sec? And then a paved road climb that's steep. Everything else is either hard-pack ST or loose-over-hard fireroad. If you're a good bike handler then I would go more towards minimalist tread. Or...just throw on a front tire that gives you confidence and a rear tire that rolls well.

Anybody racing Incycle Hammer Time at Bonelli this weekend (Sunday, Oct 21)? I raced here years ago. Was thinking about prerunning the course on Saturday. Does anybody know if it'll be marked? Any experiences camping overnight? I read on the RV park that they have tent parking for $30. If I show up on Saturday could I get a spot or do I need a reservation?
