Popular weekend for Demos...new MTB's available for demo in Aliso Woods, and new Road Bikes also (might also be 1-2 of those 26"-wheeled jr Fuel-EX bikes that were on hand for Over The Hump for the 9-10 year olds at the Laguna Event).

Bikes available 1st-come, 1st served basis. If you're not sure about navigating Aliso, some Kasel Team members not racing Casper's might be there (sooner rather than later if I crash out)

    Vail Lake Event

That is, if you're not already racing Casper's, the Mount Wilson Event, or have other plans.

Product placement over, but you're more than welcome to ask questions via this, or create a separate product thread.

Thanks! How come Trek stopped producing Full Carbon 9.9 Remedy?

Word is a combination of durability and warranty. The weight advantages of carbon were minimal when engineered for that bike, but cost significantly more than the aluminum.

The Fuel is still offered in full carbon though. And it descends better than any dedicated xc rig...I'd steer "riders" to try the Fuel first, and "racers" to the Top Fuel/ProCaliber.

Oh, and I wouldn't count out a reappearance of a full-carbon remedy, especially with the current lineup of Enduro and DH athletes under the Trek brand.

^^^ This doesn't make any sense because they still offer the Remedy 9.8 which is full carbon. It used to be that the 9.8 had carbon front triangle and Alum rear. The 9.9 was full carbon. Now that the 9.8 is full carbon, the only difference from the 9.9 was the components and color.

I have a 2010 Remedy 9.8 (purchased in late 2009) and it is still going strong. I have raced it, bike parked it, and ride the crap out of it and haven't had any durability problems. Maybe the older ones had stronger, or more layers of carbon fiber. The 2010 Remedy was the first year for the OCLV Carbon.

Remedy 9.8 is not full carbon, this year, last year, or the year before. Alloy chainstays, which is typical. This is true for the 29er and 27.5 versions. The next version down is the 9, which is full aluminum. Both versions have the Magnesium Evo Link, not the carbon. Even the 9.9 closeout models from last year (and the year(s) before) have alloy chainstays.

Full carbon last year and this year does not occur until you get to the Fuel EX and Top Fuel (Fuel EX last year) in the 9.9 trim. 9.8 trim is alloy chainstays.

You're 2010 is a 26'er, and all of the recent versions are 27.5 or 29er...longer stays and more travel. 2012 was the last all-carbon, and it was only in 9.9 trim in a 26" wheel size.

Oh, and OCLV goes back to 1997 road frames...it appeared in Trek's lineup for MTB's a few years later.

Actually what is interesting and I am a Trek fanboy. The 2015 Remedy 9.9 is also not full carbon but the Trek website doesn't state that specifically. They do state for the 9.8 but not the 9.9. I almost picked one up but passed once I found out the chainstays were alum and no carbon rims. Price wise Spesh seems to be better at pricing in the higher models with carbon hoops vs alum for Trek.
