I'm doing the 100 mile route this year with a co-worker and riding buddy. Mike, send me a text if you're gonna do any training rides in the coming weekends before the tour, I could use the miles too.

Sounds good man ! weather forecasting rain this weekend which totally dampers my riding schedule. I was talking to drewbacca early today to see what the weather was going to be in high desert . If clear I might give it a go up there maybe .I'll keep you posted for the next week

I'm in......but only for the 25. As a BSA Merit Badge Counselor, I'm joining about 15 Boy Scouts and 5 parents. After this they will only have to complete a 50-mile ride (probably SART) to earn the Cycling Merit Badge. Nothing like cruising on my Heckler with Small Block 8's pumped up to 45 PSI for a little road ride.

My girlfriend and I are in for the full century. She's even talking about doing the marathon the next day. Crazy girl.

Been registered for months for the 100 with my brother and son in law. Did it last year for the first time and that wind was brutal. This would be first time for my son in law. Its too late now to start training. You either got it now or not. My training this year hasnt been good either but we're going to do it again. If anyone is looking for someone to ride with we need a good wind break. Pace ???? Slow we typically ride SART to the beach 15 miles one way in an hour. pm me if interested.

My wife and I are signed up for 100. Not sure if we'll make it though. We've never done 100. Our training was going great until her crash, and we didn't ride at all in December while she was recovering. It will be a slow 100 miles (if we make it the whole way).

We just rode sart this morning . Slight bit of drizzly starting by Amtrak station ;but little water doesn't hurts. ;)

Tour de palm springs- There will be a small group of us heading up there so you all more than welcome to join us as we are not that fast just a slow 15 Mph steady pace group.

The wind last year was a bit brutal especially seeing riders completely falling over because of it on the first climb. This year lets hope it's a little warmer than last year.

Should be crisp and clear tomorrow. It was snowing on the way here. Looking forward to doing my first road century.

My wife and I are riding tomorrow. It's our first century and we are little slow too. Maybe we'll see each other. I'll be wearing all black, catlike helmet, red/white/blue Look bike and my wife will be on a black and yellow Pinarello.

Awesome ride out there today! A little tough at first due to the cold and strong winds. Once we had the wind at our backs and it warmed up a little it got considerably easier.

I am very impressed with the Strava app on my phone. The total ride was posted at 103.5 miles which is exactly what my app recorded plus the 1.5 miles from the motel.

    How do I compare

This was my 2nd century at TDPS or anywhere for that matter. You might have seen me wearing a black and red Arogant Bastard Ale jersey on red and white Trek 3.2. Every inch on my body covered except my eyes and nose for 50 miles. Last year I limped in the last 20 mile. This year I did much better. So How do I compare . I had 7:52:00 hrs ride time to complete. OH and I hate wind.

We did see you Billabonk. I was wearing a green OTB jersey and my girlfriend was wearing a black jacket. I think we saw you towards the end of the ride.

Here's my garmin info from that ride, I only did 102.6, cause as I was riding up from my hotel I just jumped into the 100 milers at the corner of Tahquitz/Indian and went from there. At the 10 mile mark I told my riding buddy I wouldnt come back, because the cold and wind at the beginning sucked, but once we got to Desert Hot Springs and the descent started, that idea went out the window. I had a top speed of 47mph and the constant stretches of 30-35mph descents was really rewarding. I think I did see an OTB jersey, but I swear it was brown and I didnt look at the bike. But I was probably the only rider there on a Beef Gravy Brown Surly Crosscheck w/ the EA90x carbon fork. I was wearing all black Pearl Izumi and TLD full-fingered gloves.

My first time for the ride and although I only did the 25, I had a great time. The scouts I was riding with did a great job. Some of the younger boys were riding 20" tires with slammed seats. It looked so painful to watch them pedal but they wouldn't raise their seats - too uncool. At the first stop I caught up to the older jackrabbits and paced them for the rest of the ride. The hill after the casinos reminded me of interval training back in the day. The stop lights sure break up a good pace. I wore an old STR jersey and right after the finish line I heard S...T...R and Mike was there to say HI.

I pulled out of PS at 2 and drove to Parker to visit the in-laws, do a little desert riding and pick up four bags of the best pink grapefruit ever. A great weekend.

I think I saw you...this was my first century ever. You may have seen me also - I was the insane guy (according to about 50 people) on the Trek Mamba 29er MTB, with fat tires to boot. Bontrager 29-1 Experts. I did 103.00 miles in 7 hours 21 minutes riding time - 8:19 total with stops. I don't know that I'll ever do another century on a MTB, but then again, I am slightly crazy.
