Has anybody compared the 2 tires.,continental mtn king II. One is 200's tpi, the other 85 tpi. Flat protection, tubeless ready or regular(to use as tubeless)? Pro/cons????
Check out this site. It's taught me a lot over the years. I've specifically linked you to the tires information.
"Some tires use thick thread, some use thin thread for the fabric. With thin thread, there are more threads per inch ("TPI") and this number is often considered an important indication of tire performance."
That's interesting because the protection tire has the higher tpi, opposite of what sheldon brown says. I've heard the protection is really better than the lower tpi tire.
Hmmmmmm
My first try on Conti did not go so well the tyres were purchased new. I found several punctures in them that were discovered while going tubeless. I returned them and picked up a set of xking (front) and race king (rear) protection. They have worked really well no issues to report. I like how they are reasonable priced compared to Schwalbe and Maxxis. They are also lighter.
