You're all crazy.....crazy I tell ya!!! Dayum nutty mtn bikers and their long rides--you guys know there isn't any downhill there (not just no DH, but no hills pointed down), right? Gene, please let Chris and Sherry know that I can volunteer if they need me
http://www.warriorssociety.org/events/traverse_general_info.html You must reach Aid Station 1 located at the intersection of Maple Springs Road and the Main Divide Road (4 corners) by 11:00 P.M. to be allowed to finish the course Looks easy, they give you 16 hours to make the first cutoff!
Been there... done that... it was fun! Did it last year & had a ball jawing at all the checkpoints. Probably be manning one this year to cheer the rest of the Tribe on! :bang: BTW: the T-shirts are really cool!
perhaps I'll volunteer this year after surviving it last year....do I have to be a Warrior to help out?:?:
No, Just email the WS and let them know that you are available, if they need the help, Chris or Sherry will let you know. Remember, registration opens tomorrow. Check at Midnight EST if the active.com site is available.
I don't know what happened. I was at work till 3am and it still wasn't open. I was going to to Switchback and sign up in person. See you all there. #-oThanks for your supprt. Here is the link: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?CHECKSSO=1&RESET=0&EVENT_ID=1495632
i registered online. no problems. note: traverse is on the same day as the nmbs #3 event in santa ynez/solvang. really wanted to do that race - the course looks amazing, but the traverse is a great event too without the 2.5 hr drive...
Just as an FYI (totally not trying to take anything away from this event) - for the DHers in the group - I believe this is the same weekend as the NMBS Firestone race, up near SB.
I think the only person that has a tough decision is Sauce. Everyone else (myself included) is probably good in only one of the disciplines.
second time around I'm in...just registered... and i'm firmly committed to beating my time from last year by, oh, a lot...
Are the cutoff times the same as last year ? I didn't have any issues with making those because if you make the first one, there is enough time to still make the last one. (Not the case for VQ, as I also found out)
