Nothing like getting up at 615 on Saturday morning to anxiously fork over 70 dollars so that I may be given the chance to suffer for 7 long hours, 6 months from now.

Something is definitely wrong with me, and I love it.

    :bang:

The question is how will my kids turn out, if their father is this messed up.

with 115 degrees with record breaking heat last year... :-k

but it's all worth it when you cross that finish line knowing that you did not finish dead last. :)

Volunteering sounds more fun to me. I'd rather watch everyone suffer this time around. How do I volunteer?

You didn't get suckered. Take credit for your condition.

The heat was the wild card last year. The year before wasn't nearly as tough.

It wasn't just the heat.....climbing and descending Pain Divide got a little boring.

If you finish the VQ you get the feather trophy. Is there something similar to finishing The Traverse?

The VQ/CC are not races so everyone gets a prize for finishing...The Traverse is a race....so the top finishers in their class get the awards.

I got a ribbon (for finishing) and a t-shirt last year. Being able to wear the t-shirt knowing I finished it last year in horrific conditions is better than any trophy I can think of
