I dig The Path. The last couple of times I've needed any parts I went there and was treated well by Neil, no complaints from me.

I've been to FB and received the same treatment as well, go figure?

Most negative people seem to moan and groan no matter what happens to them, there's always a problem.

Are you F'ing kidding me? Do you actually think I would EVER go to the Path again?
    F*ck that!
I write on STR how I was treated crappy as a customer and from that you extrapolate that I want to
go back and potentially be subjected to more lousy, pretentious snobbery ?

    HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

YOU COULD NOT PAY ME AT THIS POINT IN TIME TO GO INTO THE PATH !
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"In all honesty you sound a little too bitter over something so trivial. My advice when walking into any shop and looking for information is to ASK someone rather than be unhappy about how they didn't come to you. Have a beer and relax man"

Actually I did eventually get someones attention and the guy I got was a rude , pretentious snob.
I do not need to relax. I am just giving my opinion on my (bad) experience at the path .
This forum is where we exchange ideas and information good or bad.
When it comes to reviews of products, services or shops I want to hear the bad reviews as well
as the good ones. I want the whole story dont you?
I will continue to report my experience any time the subject comes up. Not just here, on the trail
    in other shops anywhere.
Especially when the shop calls you a " creepy internet stalker" when you call them out for their
lousy and rude customer service !

    Thephat writes;
"I do not see a need for further discussion of this topic"
Of course he does not want to see post about someone having a bad experience at his shop. What buisness
    would?
Too bad for him he does not get to tell me what to say or what to write .
This is why customer service is so important!
People remember bad service a lot longer than they do good service .

Sounds to me like you are more in need of an ego stroking than actual bike parts.

    meh

Not the path's biggest fan. Usually try to go there only when I need big bike parts that I can't wait for pricepoint to get to me. Have had trouble with break bleeds etc in the past so I learned to do that stuff myself and save the money. They also seem pretty overpriced for most things though not much worse than any other bike shop. Moral of the story work on your own stuff and buy online if possible. Maybe eventually shops/bike companies will change the philosophy of a little for a lot.

    Wow,

    Some people are really pissed.

    try-again.jpg

They should start their own shop then the rest of us could go in there and talk trash on STR. If you don't like the shop or one of the shop guys looked at you crossways then don't go there.

Maybe you should picket or go protest somewhere or just kick your dog, whatever it takes. Remember you can go down the street and get pissed off there also. Or just find a shop you like, support it and ride your bike.

We are not only judged by our friends, but also by those who are aligned against us.

Falconer, while Tani certainly has a good circle of friends and a loyal group of customers, I'm sure your disassociation with The Path is only to their benefit. I respect Tani even more for saying that you're not welcome in his shop.

I'm not even gonna try and pretend to know or care how your beef with the shop started. I'm not gonna bother going back and looking how many times you've posted a negetive about the shop, when someone else posts a positive.

Shoot man, I don't usually post anything here on the reviews. Everybody here already knows my feelings for the shop.
And yes, I've had a couple of mistakes happen on repairs. They're human, not robots. I'll even go a step further and let you know, when there's a new tech hired I encourage the guys to let them work on MY bikes. That way they can get it right without hurting anybodys feeling.

You're right about the shop reviews being there for both sides of the story. But like the trail reviews on Mtbeer, I take most reviews with a grain of salt. What one person might think a trail is the best one they've ever ridden, it may be a complete snoozer in my book.

Where you're wrong is saying Tani or any other buisness for that matter, don't like to see the negetive reviews.

How do you think adjustments get made?

I've seen first hand, how Tani and other shop employees go out of their way to make something right for an un-happy customer.

If someone gets hired as a tech, and it doesn't work out for them, they usually get moved to sales, or another spot in the shop. It's called keeping people their jobs when possible.

So in the end, The Path has the right to refuse you service, just as you have the right not to shop there.

Sounds like your beef with them should be resolved.

Take care, and enjoy your rides.

Does The Path offer free lifetime adjustments like Rock n Road does?? Thinking of buying a new bike and was just wondering if they do the same. Rock n Road will make small adjustments to derailers, levers, brakes and lube a chain for free anytime.

Why do you feel the need to post that you will never go there again more then once?
