Do you know what the "spectator" costs are; entry, parking etc.? if no I'll just have to call the number.

Buy your membership on a practice day, after a few runs when there is no line.

Is Joe Lawwill laying out the Super D courses this year?, if so I'll have to come out and race at least one of these events.

I was talking to Luke (from the path) and It sounds that him, Joe and another person will be building the courses.

Not really, they normally make new courses each race. They might include some parts of old courses but no way you could spend lots of time practicing any course prior to race. You could ride the old ones anytime you want.

Race the XC...you'll probably get 1/2 to 3/4 of each Super-D course as part of that fun...roll expert and you'll pre-ride it 3 times. You'll be fresh as a daisy for your runs. Or, if you're like me, relish your relative quickness on the the Super-D sections compared to the other XC guys and avoid getting DFL'D in the Super-D when you're uber-slow through the more DH technical portions.

despite telling my wife not to, she is working a bunch of these weekends which means I can't race.
I am slow and only race beginner DH, but it's a lot of fun and I love it.
    arrrrrggghh . . .

I'm going to race this weekend but I'm not sure whether to race super d or dh. Is the beginner dh course different from the other class dh?

The DH courses all utilize the same start and finish line. More often than not, the Pro/Expert course will split off of the Beginner/Sport course and incorporate some steeper, chunkier lines. Another way of saying it is that the Beginner/Sport courses are often routed around the tougher sections with an easier route. Sometimes everyone runs the same course, but if so, then it's a pretty easy course - relatively speaking.

You can go out on Saturday, walk the course(s) to see if it's something you want to do. Then you can pay $10 for a wristband allowing you access to the courses for practice and shuttle rides if you want. The shuttle lines can get pretty long (like 45 mins) so I often stay on the upper section and push up the road for 5 or 6 laps, then do the lower section (which is almost always the same) a few times and head to the pits for beer and call it a day. The DH race is on Sunday.
