Friggin love this bike. Finished building it up at about 11 last night....first ride today and it is everything I had hoped. I love everything about it. Only thing left to change is a quick release silver seatpost clamp.

Sweet SS!
How much weight did you save by not running the chain?
Maybe i should try that, i might be faster

fakking schweet bike Fo'.
you know I like the blue bling :)
so what does it weigh in at?

I read where someone once said that you couldn't bling a SS. I wish I remembered who it was so that I could forward this thread to that person.

Nice SS Fo.

i wish....and the chains i like are heavy to boot.

the only thing not shipped was a chain so that had to wait till the next day.

here is my post-ride pic....funny how with 100 degree temps the most dirt you will see on a bike is light dust.

total weight is a smidgen under 24 lbs.

Very nice build, Fo.
thanks man....the bike lived up to my expectations and i am very happy with it.

it rides awesome. the geometry i went with was spot-on. i am stoked about the fit.

the fork is incredible....though mixed reviews (like everything i suppose), it blows away the Reba I had. I am so happy i went with it. i love the climbing/travel feature.

tires (Ignitors) are awesome.....did not lose grip on some really loose sections where last time i rode, the Nano lost it.

everything is spot on.....only thing to change is getting a qr seatpost clamp. by FAR, the most aggressive hardtail i have ever ridden....i was so impressed on the downs.

Jeepers Fo. My 1996 Mongoose IBOC Pro-SX weighed in at 23.5 pounds, geared and steel.

Seriously though, that's a nice looking bike. It makes me want to build the old 'goose into a SS. That's really neat that Sherwood will do the custom decals for you. I'll be it's nice having a non-cookie cutter bike.

that is a light bike then....i have had a FS at 23.5 lbs, but it is was my goal for that bike.

without putting girly parts on, 24 lbs is good in my book. I could EASILY get it down in weight, but it is perfect as is. This is my all day trailbike to be honest. heck, just switching tubes and handlebars, it would be 3/4 pound lighter. My chain is about 400+ grams.......i love ODI lock ons, etc.....

My Other 29er single speed is 19.5 lbs if I care about weight where it will be long extened climbing i suppose

FS @ 23.5? Dude, that's light!! Mine was only a HT. I think the frame would be cool as a fully rigid. It's an old frame, so today's forks are probably a little long for the geometry.

not sure how much they cost me...i just paid for the whole bike. pretty sure i got the cranks for wholesale but they are not too expensive honestly......i would say with an average bottom bracket and chainring, probably about $250 or so which is a lot less than a lot of cranks out there. i could be wrong on the price though.

That is a fine looking bike.

But, I find your avatar offensive.
