I'm that lucky dawg that won the bike.

Many hats off to the folks at ADRENALINE BIKES and everyone else who contributed time, merchandise, food, drink, money and whatever else. I hope a lot of money was raise for a worthy cause. It seemed like everyone was having a rocking time, I certainly was. Bummed though I didnt get to ride, as I was too excited to get the bike home to show the fam. Special thanks to Disco for helping me back to my truck with the goods. Anyway here are a few specs and pics:

    Rock Shox Tora fork
Shimano Deore and Deore LX components
    HB MX1 discs
    TruVativ bar, stem and cranks

The Great Adrenaline BS non event/event

If you weren't there... you missed a fun event...errr, I mean a fun non-event. No thanks to Orange County bureaucracy, this non-event almost didn't take place... and only the bull dog dertermination of a certain single speed riding, teddy bear of a man pulled this together an made it happen. Neil is a special guy with a heart as big as a 29" wheel (this is big!). The fact that this non-event even took place is a testiment to this.

Let's start at the beginning.... I got there around 8:25 am this morning... many groups of riders had already gotten there and were off riding. the weather was perfect. After the obligatory stop to say hello to people in the parking lot, I was able to catch up with Roger and CC's group. We had a relaxing ride through ther park and up the 3 bitches... picked up Darin and Jake along the way and finally down the sweet single track and back to the last sandy wash... where CC decided to show us how to do an OTB. We were all impressed with her prowess at this. Luckily, nothing broken and we all rode back to the parking lot. Nancy met us walking their 2 dogs. Her healing continues.

Several more riders were leaving for another lap and Jeff (Hooiser Daddy), Jose and I decided to join them... rather than riding the Bitches again, we decided to take a lap in Blair Witch. The single track was outstanding and we ended up visiting the old dam and back to Blair Witch again... ending up on Fence Line... where Jeff showed how much pain he could take warding rocks off his shin...ouch!

Back to the parking lot where you could smell the burgers in the air that Traci was grilling up. By this time a rather large crowd had gathered as riders returned from the trails. Everyone had a smile on their face.

After stuffing our faces with burgers, dogs and a beverage we weren't supposed to be drinking in the park... it was raffle time. Neil was assisted by his lovely daughter, Mattie.... a constant bundle of energy.... gee, I wonder where she gets it from???

Much swag was handed out and a 29er bike was finally claimed... lucky guy! People started leaving one by one... with even several riders going out for another lap! All in all, it was a great time, put togther by great people for a great cause.

Neil & Traci showed again just how special they are and set the standard of service very high for others to follow. Thanks guys!

I was in that second ride of yours, the six or seven of us or so who did blair witch and that dam. Gotta say, that is some fun singletrack hidden away in there. I want to go back already.

And yeah, I stuck around for the raffle. I think someone would have had my head if I had taken the bike as well.

I'm stoked for everyone who attended this today, and especially for a fine charity that benefited. The last time they did this was a blast, and this version looks even better.

I was set to go but got a call this morning from the friend who got me into mountain biking to begin with. He hadn't ridden in months, and I could tell by the way he was talking that if he didn't have a friend along he might not go today, so we went for a mellow loop at Aliso instead (I tried to talk him into the Adrenaline event, but no-go). It was great to ride with an old friend, and I owe him a dozen more days like today, but it was still a drag to miss the fun. See you all next time!

Major props to Neil and all the fine folks who put this together. You guys and girls rock!
