You don't notice the steepness till you go down it some time. It's a short climb and switches back several times. The last time someone called out the climbers, we never heard from again. After the VQ, I'm game.

Han Chollo, (Jason), I'll meet you out there tomorrow so you're in the background pointing at it! Let me know when you can squeak out. Then we'll go for time!

Guys, girls, no rules! Just post your time and if you want, what you're riding...or walking! Details won't hurt ya but the burn might.

According to my Garmin the last 2 times were 4:47 & 4:57.
Didn't set the lap start & end though but just be looking at the map these times look legit.

Both were on a SS. I'll have to try it on the 'Cross bike next month when I get back town ;)

I think Garmin shows it as being 258 feet but I guess it depends upon where you start/end

Ya I added about 50 ft. The book says low point 450, high point 705, difference 255. I have timed myself before, but I'll keep it to myself for now. Don't want to discourage y'all. ;)

    I like challenges. Especially climbs.

I'd be up for a stairsteps challenge too.
and I don't mean climbing. :bang:

Singlespeeds are fast no doubt. Mostly because they are light and your forced to push that bigger gear. I may have seen you blow by me more than a few times going up and I was impressed. So much in fact I've considered taking my 24" Redline BMX cruiser up it just to see. Don't get me wrong, you gotta be a man or a manly woman to chug it up in one gear. In fact, I'm not sure you can make it up over five minutes since you have to be cranking to kept your balance!

Had my fastest times up Cholla on a SS and 5 min to 5:30 have been the times on a 26er and 29er..my 2nd and 3rd time up it though are always quicker then the 1st vomit lap up:)....and I looked up times on my CX rig and it was right around 5:30 but a bit slower going down Rock-it;) then the SS's.

I would think Duan- Foofighter- has the best stories about Cholla, he used to hate that climb but I am pretty sure he cruises up it now!

I might be able to get 5 minutes on cholla. pretty sure at least. I usually just cruise up it though.

As far as mathis, I think my fastest time up that was around 17 minutes. I don't think I really timed that either though, just glanced at my computer at the beginning and then again at the top. next time I'll do it.
