It is such an horrible story. most of us never have been exposed to situations like that, where there is a life and death situation. I would have been like the poor father. I guess we all need to learn more. May it be over heating in summer or hypothermia in winter, or injuries when far away in a trail.
We are all passionate about the sport. I would have a hard time if something bad happened to someone close because I didn't know what to do to save then. Heck I probably wouldn't know what to do to save myself...
I think we should organize a first- aid survival class oriented to mountain bikers. It is just a matter of time where any of us can be in a situation to help.
