RR: Sycamore Cyn Park May 29, 2006
Our wheels turned over the asphalt, making buzzing noises, as though eager to finally get on the dirt. We spun down to the trail head, a little singletrack almost hidden. We dropped in to Sycamore Cyn. park a little after 8:30am. The air was cool and smelled sweetly of California chapparal. The grasses crackled under our wheels and the mustard whipped at our legs.
Ahead, granite boulders beckoned.

We made our way through "Little Moab." and back on the singletrack. Little Moab wasn't slickrock, but granite, and fun. We rocked and rolled a little. I took a quick rest by falling off my bike on a trick little gap. Good times.
We didn't have a goal or a destination. Which way to go?

It wasn't all singletrack, though. But, even the double track had flowers still blooming and some cool rocks to see. Epic_Mtn_Biker and Ride2Live cruised along.

As did CycleCC and Dirttorpedo...

But some of us were a little more intense, taking the adrenaline rush and milking it for all it was worth. :bang:

But, we left time for a pensive moment, or two. There wasn't any reason to rush. No races to win. Nothing but the bike and the trail.

It was a great ride and a beautiful morning. No Steven Jackson sightings, though.
