Did a Thanksgiving ride this morning at Sycamore in Riverside, and, near the storage facility on the south east corner, found that they had ripped and graded acres of the property, tearing out significant single track. The outside loop is no longer possible to traverse via trail, though I was able to ride the 200 yards or so through loose soil to meet up with the trail on the other side. It was quite a shock to see so much of the area be blown to bits.

Why would you go to sycamore to ride dirt when there are so many fun rocks to ride? I only use the dirt to get to the rocks

I'd call it a clean slate to build the trail you would want to ride. Get a shovel tomorrow on Black Friday and start digging!

I agree with mark, all the climbing and singletrack is on the opposite side....it was a bunch of doubletrack/ fire roads by the storage place last i remember

I also agree with destroyer.....time for some jumps

Are you meaning the stuff Kevin rides on the south side of Alessandro? I never even consider that part of Sycamore since there is probably 35 miles worth of trails in the area between Alessandro and Central. Never needed to go over there. Its easy enough to get in 4000ft climbing in ~25mi around the main park. Enough for my legs at least.

My weekly group (Team Dirty Work) rides over there every once in a while......its the old March AFB ammo dump.....its actually very flat and the trails are not as nice as Sycamore Canyon......very soon its going to be developed and they will only leave a small square in the center for the K-rat...

As far as the other stuff that got plowed at Sycamore....all of that is also private property and is also slated for development...#-o

I rode with you guys a couple of months ago. We did a boring ride along the canal. I was on a carbon Kona King Kahuna 29er on Eastons. :)

    Disseminated?

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Ok, so north of the paid storage and all the way down to Farmer Boys. I'm going to have to find a new route since that cuts into about 2mi of my normal tour. drat. I may need to start crossing over at BFR. Maybe they'll put in an El Torito there so i can make a pitstop for a margarita. if only...
