I spent the weekend at the in-laws house for halloween. So what better way to end it by riding home from Studio City.
My route would take me thru Griffith park, Glendale (not a highlite of the route), South Pasadena, Glendora, Pomona, Chino, Corona, and the long awaited climb up Temescal cyn in to Elsinore and the final push to Temecula.
Some how I found a bike path above Monrovia/Irwindale that was nice for a about 5 miles until I had to hit traffic lights again.
The highlight of the route: South Pasadena-Monterey ave. Beautiful homes and big 'ol trees.
The Low of the route: LA roadies are a bunch of A-holes. Numerous attitudes along the way. Maybe because I was passing them on a low level Felt curbside on the hills.
Anyway, can't say I'll look forward to doing it again.
After 7 hrs. and 115 miles, I was done.

Sounds like a nice afternoon ride . Sorry about the tude from the LA guys but I think you'll find it everywhere. I don't let it bother me. And the number one reason I keep my old 9 year road bike is for when I get passed the guys passing me almost always have a more expensive bike then mine. or for that matter when I pass someone my bike is almost always worth less then theirs.

Yesterday though I led the "A" group back on our ride and when one of the kids went out front for the sprint back I was not only able to match him after pulling the whole way I passed him at 27 mph and held it for almost a half mile. What a ego booster that was! Now I just need to get my climbing legs back.

Looked like a fun ride back...too bad certain roadies have an "better than thou" attitude...especially when you fly by on a lessor bike....Its the rider for the most part..I see it around Temecula too! (they really don't like a mtn bike keep'in pace)

black bibs, black troy lee xc jersey, black pirate socks, no fingerless gloves, no helmet (forgot that at home by accident, oh crap that's the reason I was hated).
Maybe the pirate socks were too punk for the road?
