Ride Report STR Invasion of Marshall Canyon

This was an awsome ride\\/, my first trip up to Marshal Canyon but not my last. We all had fun. Adam got bored when we climbed out of the canyon and hit fire road so he decided to take his morning nap:-$. Not wanting to miss out on anything he woke up when we arrived at the top and was ready to rip the downhill:bang:. A big THANK YOU :clap:to everyone that helped to put this ride on. Also thanks to the guys at Incycle for the support.

 

Thanks Joe, definitely a bummer that I didn't get to meet you either. But now I know what you look like in case I see you out on the trails.
That little jump was sweet...I took the opportunity to try and impress the wife Hope David was OK.
We'll have to hit El P or the Merrills sometime soon if we can work out our schedules. Looks like this Wednesday I'll be out there after work as Henry (Maniacal) wants to ride at 4pm...in case you or anyone else want to join us. It'll be a slow climb Brown Mtn and down El P. Or perhaps up El P to Brown and back down El P, which was a lot of fun two weeks ago...except for my busted granny ring right at the beginning.

I was typing my thoughts and they didn't have much to do with marshal canyon at all.
I was kind of using it as a note pad.

Maybe I should have removed it.

I left it and copied and pasted it into it's own thread.

I left the gravity camp idea info because I noticed that the newbies are eager to learn. I thought it would be a great place to get some feed back.
There is nothing to promote it's only in the planning stage. If it's not needed it it wont happen.

When it is way late I sleep type most of the people on here know that.:lol:

But I do see your point. I will try to keep my thought on a tighter leash.

Window watching my .... you and the rest of us were rating the ladies walking by,and waiting to see miss"green hair"in her 10"platform shoes walk by again!!!Great day to be out riding.Had a cold earlier in the week but I thought I stick it out.Chest congestion finally got the best of me though so I figured it best that I cut it a little short.Mark(sorry,I forgot your handle-senior moment on my part) helped Linda(Brewmaster's wife) and Tara(ohyea89)back to the cars.Along the way we picked up Beth(Elisheva) and just took an easy cruise back.For beginners both Linda and Tara did very well.It was fun to watch the two ladies gain confidence and cruise through areas that they said they probably would've walked through.When you get a chance ladies,check in with the Trailangels,they'll help you with your skills.Headed over to T.E.Phillips for lunch and man was that placed packed.Didn't know that they were having a classic car show downtown and that it was considered the busiest day of the year in the downtown area!Hung around and ordered a beer with Fired Your Momma and Duke777,and talked to Brenda Gilbert(glad to see your back up and riding)for a while waiting for a table.(Felt sorry for some of the customers there,we were hanging over them like vultures waiting for them to leave.)Finally we were seated with Gene,Tim (Jasonmason),Vickie,and another rider whose name I never got.After lunch the fun began when Andy,Hugh,Greg,Jessie and Beth joined us.Could not stop laughing for two hours,a truly great time.Thanks to the STR gang for a great day.It was great seeing the people that I've met before and even better to meet some of the people I haven't met,and I hope everybody got home ok.On a final note,Fired Your Momma,for a Red Sux fan you're ok.(He bought me lunch!:clap-Lloyd :wave:

14.7 miles don't seem like a lot when your having fun!

 

LOL he really looks like he is flexing. I am surprised he did not put the baby oil on. I think Andy was Flexing as well:beer:.

 

Man what a horrible ride, chating and meeting new people, getting my bike and feet wet, crumby climbs in the sun and swoopy singletrak! What fun is all that?
Oh wait nevermind, just trying to sound different since I can't agree more with what everyone had already said!
Great way to start off the spring/summer riding season. Hope everyone is encouraged and inspired to get out and ride more no matter what level your at.

Like everyone else says here … fun day. I’m glad I ran into the group since I didn’t even know about the ride, I guess I should check in here more often. The last time I rode with STR was a few years back on the SART. Less than 20 people back then. We should do that again since the route has plenty of options for A, B, and C groups.

Whats the screen name for the guy who was riding the black cyclocross bike? We exchanged names but I cant recall.

What a turn out! And, great weather!

Good job on the organization and for those leading the groups, pats on the back all around! All seemed pretty calm considerinig.

So here are the pics I got, they petered out for the decent as I likes my downhill. They resume at the car show, I mean, at the after ride gathering.
