I have a little Holiday time off and for once in my life, I am staying in town. I was thinking that we should all get together over the holidays and have a big roadie group ride. I'd like to do like a 50-60 miler around the Orange County area. Any interest? If yes, complete the survey with your preferred date(s) ( I left out Christmas Day and Christmas Eve b/c it's typically too busy for most): Dec. 23, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, Jan. 1

Will I be made fun of if I wear baggies and dirty mountain biking shoes. If not, I'm in.

She's on lock down and we still have some time left. This is probably my last ride away from home for awhile! I'll be doing HB loops so I can jet home in January.

Don't care as long as you wear something. #-o

I was thinking about a 55-60 mile route today. If you are interested in going, comment on this as well. I will probably pre-ride soon. I've always wanted to do this route to do both trails to avoid traffic. One consideration is that we could add on another 10-15 miles ging to Dana Point. I could be talked into it, I just don't like the tight lanes from Dana Point to Laguna and for a group ride it may be too long.

Start: Newport Beach at Fascist (Fashion) Island, North on Back Bay Trail, North East on San Digeo Creek Trail continuing on Mountain's to Sea Trail North East, South East on Santiago Canyon, South on Aliso Creek Trail, North on Rockfield Blvd, South West on El Toro, South West on Laguna Cyn. Rd. (SR133), and North on PCH.

I wanted to figure out the plans by the 23rd in anticipation of planning the holidays and rides. I have a feeling that if we are voting and still deciding at Christmas time, then we couldn't really decide.

Looks like we have a century ride taking shape for the 23rd. Starting at Starbucks in Corona on Ontario Ave then heading out to Seal Beach (the Cinnamon bun shop) then retracing our way back. Plan for a 6+ hour ride. This will be a medium paced ride and we leave nobody behind so if we have to wait, we wait. No complaining about it, please. Start time is 7 am. You are more then welcome to jump in at anytime or place along the way. We always have a great time on this ride.

So, we *should* be back home by 3pm, then. I'm trying to talk my XO into signing my leave document.

I may join up with you guys in Long Beach and ride on the return leg and then ride back to HB. Sound good? I'd have to have some idea when you guys will be there. It takes me about 40-45 minutes to ride up to LBC from home. Let's make it happen!

Anyone for Jan. 1st? Sounds like a flaker day since there maybe some unintentional hangovers.

Are you guys forgetting the best parts of Newport? Up Newport Coast or around Shady Canyon (I like their short, but sweet bike path), the hammer heads can always go up Ridge Park?!?!

Where is the Cinnamon Bun shop?

I think they are talking about Sweet Jill's. It's on second street. 2nd and Corona??? Chelle- if you ride from HB to Shady let's ride. I love that route. What do ya think? Then I can bum the pedals?
