Had a great time racing, the course was fun. My race run was awesome until I got to the wall, the headwind kicked my you know what!!! It's great to have some new faces in the Open Women's class (Donna, Nicole and Tara).

XC/AM bike, no pads (maybe), no armor, no Leatt, XC lid, how are these the same as for DH?

I think this poster meant they require the same things from the promoters point of view.

I've not seen a Super D in Socal that costs $40.

    At Southridge isn't is $33? With a member discount it's $23?

Team Big Bear Super D's are usually $25.

Although I agree it'd be real nice to just pay $10 or so for those who are doing it as a 2nd race.

Southridge Super D is $35 - $10 SRC discount No License required.

TBB Super D is $25 but you have to have a USAC license (1 day is $5 or $10, yearly is $60) and the entry forms states:

Register for 3 or more races deduct $10.00 (Limit One Deduction Only)

Idyllwild Spring Challenge Super D is $25 and also requires a USAC license.

Rim Nordic Super D is $25 each race ($80 for all 4 events, paid at 1st race) and also requires a USAC license.

I agree with this whole heartedly:

"I think to bring more participation and competition, promoters should take a page out of the crit/cyclocross book. In that, I mean, heavily discounting for multiple races. At a crit/'cross race, you pay your 25-35 bucks for the first race, then your second race costs only 5-10 bucks more. It's almost impossible to turn down that second race. Promoters make a little more dough, racers get a little more race, everybody's happy. If that were the case, I think youd have a lot of xc racers and DH racers doing super D."

I am already there for the XC race, $73.00 makes for an expensive day.

    Cheers,

    C.K.

I guess im a wuss but sections of that XC course are a little ridiculous. I watched the 6 guys in front of me fall on one section, im not complaining about the climbing(strength) but some of the descents are a little techy and some riders cant hang, so it just makes for a miserable race course for XC, in my thoughts it seems like super d and dh are the primary focus out at fontana.

You need to take up road racing before your complaining ruins the courses for the rest of us who actually think a XC course should reward good MOUNTAIN BIKING skills.

make no mistake, i love racing SRC. Donny and co. put on a top notch event. one of the only xc races i know of that actually requires some skill in the down hill. i dont need anything to change. however, if the option to do the super d (correct me if im wrong, but doesnt it last <5min?) came with the xc entry, i'd probably try it.

I like the course the way it is too, but he's just voicing his opinion. Try to encourage him to improve his technical skills, rather than running him off. Chasing away racers is what will ruin the races for us all.

Albeit a little more technical than most XC courses, it's not at all outside of what a solid XC rider should be able to handle. Embrace it as a chance to up your game. Good luck.

Whats funny is that I ride joplin once a week if time and weather permit and have no issue with that trail. It's not my skills i have issue with, i can hang, its just when i have people one CRASHING in front of me and getting hurt and making my descent more difficult then necessary thats what my complaint is. Promote the course for what it is. It's a pro level course. It's a pain in the ass to ride but i use it for a litmus test. Trust me this person isn't going to run me off from a race, I let my riding do my talking plain and simple. Nice post though, tool.

I meant from Donnies perspective as far as cost of putting the event on.

Really you hike all the way up from the parking lot? I could have swore I have heard them say Super D riders this is the last shuttle and seen super D riders on the shuttle.

Ok he bought yellow poles at some point but he has to buy paint to mark the super D vs donated tape from sponsors.

I am all about getting myself to the start line on my own accord for a discount entry for SD. You? I never expected it really....
