Please excuse my ignorance I'm very new to this, but does double points mean 1st place gets 200 points or 100 points twice (two first place finishes)? If 200 points, it would make a 10th place equal to a 1st place in any of the previous races. Is this the case?

Any any other event double points would mean that all points would be doubled so yeah 1st would be 200 2nd would be 190 etc..

 

So excited for this race. Times are getting faster, more comfortable racing, rocking new colors

It means even though I had completely screwed my last few races there is a slight chance I could win the final and STILL pull off an over all number one for the Winter Series. :lol: :beer:

It would mean that this race would count for two of your top 4 races OR it would count as one race with twice as many points. Hence the 10th place being equal to a normal 1st place and would mean even if you won the last 4 races, if you miss this race you might not win the series.

 

I believe you nailed it. Miss the race or DNF and you are SOL. :lol: Although I am on the SOL bubble as it stands now so I will not miss it. 8-[

 

It will be 200 points not two races. The other scenario would mean your using 3 of the 5 races. Sure thats the point of double points races to shake things up. I still think its a better setup then he used in past that you had to race last race to qualify. How your not automatically dqed from overall but you are handicapped.

It's pretty much the same thing. Unless some thing super funky has happened, the guy sitting in second overall is most likely close enough that zero points from the number one spot will surely mean number two just took it from you, or even number 3,4,5 ....

 

Yeah but you have a chance and a even a small chance is better then none. :?:

 

1st place in 4 races = 400 points. No-show to the 5th or DNF because of a crash or mechanical and someone who placed 7th in 3 races and wins the last one = 410 points. I'd need some serious convincing as to how that makes sense.

 

Not everything needs to make sense and I am sure as hell not going to try and explain it except that who ever is placing first in every race is well .... perhaps sandbagging?:?:

Aaaaaaannnd before people get their panties in a bunch, I actually like a sandbagger or two in my class as it gives me something to strive for and compare my self to the experts who have been using a different course.

 

I have a 1st, 2nd, 2nd and a 3rd. Unfortunately Mandy moved from Sport to Expert and took her 1st place Sport points with her, so we are now tied for 1st place. I guess I gotta rock this one!!!

Going into this one mentally prepared! I think my rut is from me trying to be overly serious. My first 2 races were good because I was mentally prepared and having fun.
