I do not do the xc so this is for DH...

The rain is supposed to be done with tomorrow, Friday, so the mud will not be to bad on the hill. It should be nice and tacky. The flat sections such as the wall will have nasty puddles and will be thick mud in the middle.

Even if it was raining during the race the only real change I would run will be a fender/mud guard as the craaap will be flying up into yer face pretty good.

My free fender. It was just just a rough cut and needs some fine tuning but you get the idea.

I'm heading out from long beach. I don't have room for a ride but you can meet me along the way and follow me out there.
22 to 55 to 91 to 15 to 60 to Fontana. It's really not that hard. I'm heading out early Saturday morning. Maybe 7 or 7:30am.

If it's still raining I'm going to bring out an EZup but will be hiking in the rain all day. I can leave it at the button with someone but i'm thinking about hiking it half way up the hill for people to sit under.

Look for a 10x10 green EZup maybe with one of my banners. It's going to be set up for you guys

Anyone know where they hold the kids race? I've never seen it but thought it would be on thr 4X track. Since 4X practice and kids race is the same time, I guess not. Is it for little kids (4&5) or older? My son is state ranked in BMX and is now getting into MTB; would the kids race be a waste of time (I would have to miss the whole day of DH practice to stay with him - 8 year old)?

Usually a bit of the 4x track (more like around and below the bottom section) then around the Vender venue..It's a kids race with training wheels and what not, so if he's looking for a *real* race this is not the race for him..If he's state ranked in BMX then he will not like this kids race..It's more like something to pass the time with the kids..

I will say this...My daughter is 8 she dabbles in BMX racing and about 1/2 the time chooses to race for something to do, not to brag but she does usually end up winning because she actually can ride a bike well and on dirt not just around the culdie at home..

So with all my jibber - if your considering missing DH practice for him to race the kids race - I don't think it's worth it for either of you.

Still raining. Maybe walking the course only this afternoon if it clears up. Fast and flowy 1 course nothing technical. Brad says bring both DH bikes.

thanks for the course info nancy.

you think I'll be able to manage using the 5" bike for the DH course? still dont have the derailleur hanger I need for the reign, so I might need to go to plan B/C :-k

1 course probably means just 1 course, no extras for the pro/ex crowd

Shaggy, I've got a couple extra hangers for a Glory; I think it might be the same one depending on what year your Reign is. Let me know, Ill be there tomorrow.

pretty sure that they are not the same. the glory hanger is significantly bigger than than the reign one, and differently contoured.

I'm perfectly fine riding my 5 incher like a DH bike though, so no big deal
