Southridge Winter Series 3 - Race Report

I didn't see a thread started yet but here are some of my photos from today. I'm uploading the complete galleries but these are my select photos from Saturday.

Southridge Winter Series 3 - Saturday Event Photos
*I updated the link to picasa cuz FaceBook is recompressing the fotos to a lower quality

The rain was a bit of a trip today and made it tuff to shoot but I did what I could. I'll post links to complete galleries later.

Thanks for the post. How is the course? Fun or lame. Technical or flowy?

i only got 2.5 runs in, but I'm pretty happy with the expert course. for the hill we have to use, it's a solid DH course.

yeah, some of the run-ins on the harder parts are a little fubar, but that makes it all the more interesting trying to figure out how to avoid the messed up parts.

see everyone out there bright and early (I needa get in a few practice runs...)

My RR: It was raining when we took off, it was interesting to say the least. That first step out of the car into the pouring rain was the hardest, but after a while you get used to being wet everywhere. Fontucky dirt holds up well in the rain, but there were some huge puddles out there anyway. I don't know if it was the dirt caked on my drivetrain or what, but my chain kept getting sucked up when trying to climb any hills after the pavement climb. I kept having to stop which let quite a few people pass me, I just hope not too many of them were in my class. We had our laps cut down by 1 because of the weather, which I didn't mind. The rain let up at one point, the sun came out, then the rain came back even worse at the end of the race. I was just hoping to finish and not wipe out. No clue where I finished in my class as we took off as soon as we could. I do know that I didn't race my best race, as I was too focused on not crashing on the descents to think about racing. My class (sport/27-34) had a good turnout of 8-10 guys, some new, some I've raced with before. Smaller turnout overall which was to be expected as it was downright pouring a half hour before the start. My girlfriend snapped this photo when I got to the car, I had a jacket on for the first lap, and ditched it when the sun came out, then got soaked even worse when I finished.
