Ok, so I'm about to join in on the SS koolaid fun. I have almost everything I need to get started except for a fork, saddle, chain, and conversion kit.

For the fork, I'm leaning toward the Zion rigid unless someone has a fork they'd sell me for about 50 bucks that will handle discs and isn't a total wreck. Has anyone tried the Zion rigid fork?

For the conversion, I've seen about 3 different kits around 20 bucks. Any advice on what to look for there?

brian, performance's conversion is the best...but if you're brave you can find the right gearing that will work without a tensioner?

Jcampbell runs a zion rigid and does some crazy stunts on his bike you should be fine.

I may have some gears and spacers for you if you need it for the hub

The frame I'm buying has an EBB right? By conversion I mean the spacers and stuff for the hub.

Interesting. This may be a stupid question, but what do you screw that on to?

the hub is threaded so you just screw the freewheel on pretty simple and straightforward...i like the freehub idea more because you can swap gears quicker...not that you'll be swapping gears all the time.

Sound like you need a half link in the chain, this will let you the chain tighter, it surprising what a difference i link makes!
Make sure the chain is aligned thru the tensioner as well

Anyone interested in seeing my ssloppy sseconds progression?

Got a quick question: Should I get a bolt-on axle for the back wheel in lieu of the QR?

Thanks again Duan. I need a "I don't hate Foo button"...

Brian, personally i like the idea of a QR in the rear. if you get a through axel you just have to make sure you have the right tool to get it out should you get a flat :) post pics meng!
